Product Description

In Link's Crossbow Training players use the Wii Remote to aim at targets on the screen, with the Nunchuk controlling movement. On the Wii Remote, players simply press down the trigger (the B Button) to fire, or continue the pressure for a more powerful shot. They can also re-position themselves, turning in different directions by aiming the pointer off-screen. On the Nunchuk the Z-Button acts as a zoom function for the camera so that the shot is completely on target. Links Crossbow Training sees each player take on the role of Link in a series of exciting and fast-paced challenges set in the world of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Players can also use a Wii Zapper with Links Crossbow Training and practice Target Shooting as well as the Defender and Ranger modes, ensuring an action-packed experience in numerous stages spread over nine levels. The object of each stage is to achieve the highest score before the time limit expires. Utilising the innovative Wii Zapper allows players to take aim and fully immerse themselves into the game in a completely new way!

I enjoyed this game. It is a pretty good game for winding down (not totally crazy, stressing and domestic causing like Mario Bros lol). You have still targets and moving targets, you even get to hit targets while mounted on a horse. You can have up to 4 players taking it in turns to see who can hit the most targets. The game isn't hard to play, in fact you can complete it really quickly, then all you can do is head for a better score each time. This is the only downside,it being such a very short game !! If it had been a longer game I would have given more stars. Even so it's an easy, fun game, I'd just say, buy a used version then it is good value for money !!

The game in itself is not bad, but the aiming system is not really about looking down the barrel of a gun. It's more about keeping a steady hand and moving a cursor across the screen to make sure that it's on the target before you fire with your left hand (trigger is front of the gun), but being right handed (another design fault of the wii system). Sometimes I have to change the way I hold the device in order to compensate the style of the next challenge! Quite annoying really.

You would have thought that this tech would be better than the days of dreamcast or PS2 'guns', which required proper aiming because there is no cursor on the screen until you pull the trigger to see a dot flash for a fraction of a second showing you where you had hit. So much more accuracy then. I guess the technological advance of tv's with plastic screens stopped the way that games with guns are made.

Overall, I think that playing a game that require a 'gun' or 'crossbow' stlye doesn't really work on the wii. Now I have discovered this, I think I need to sell this game. Shame really.

Its FUN 17 April 2011
By J. N. Bullock VINE™ VOICE
My son introduced me to Link's Crossbow Training for the Nintendo Wii and I loved it.

I am not normally one for first person shooter type games but this one is so daft as to be really fun. It sports the usual varied levels of play, shooting at targets and some of the craziest monsters ever. The graphics are good but the sound is a bit off putting...I play it on mute.

All in all a real good laugh.
