Being a student living at home it's a fair trek to get to Uni, whenever I had plotted work to carry i would of course use those cardboard poster tubes which do the job but are not fun to carry long distances, this alternative is far easier to carry, is more waterproof, looks better and gives the choice of carrying greater sizes of paper bewond the typical A sizes.

This item is relatively cheap but robust enough to protect posters. Much better than cardboard tubes. Just hope none of my colleagues borrow this one
I bought this poster tube because as a PhD student I travel a lot carrying scientific posters. This poster tube has a good locking system and a handy strap. I have not tested it in large trips yet, but it looks quite sturdy and it is of good quality plastic. And all that at a very reasonable price.
