Admittedly I bought this in an attempt to get around the ridiculous ipod volume cap (Which it doesn't) but you really get what you paid for here. The good points are that it overrides the lock so you don't have to worry about things in your bag pressing the buttons, but that's about where it ceases to be any good. The remote seriously deteriorates the sound quality and that i'm afraid is a deal - breaker. I'd recommend buyers look into something a bit more than £1.98

Ipod in line remote 22 Aug 2010
This is a relatively inexpensive remote useful for exercise particularly on treadmills when turning the volume wheel can be tricky. It's not designed to last a lifetime and it doesn't but it does the job. The only problem is the cost of delivery. It pauses, plays the next track and the last and increases volume so if you are out jogging you don't have to keep getting the ipod out of your pocket if you want to reverse and listen to 'search for the hero' 'agadoo' etc. once again when exercising.
For those knocking the item remember it is not designed to be a Rolls Royce product. It does what it says on the tin (in fact come to think of it there is nothing on the 'tin') and for long enough to make it worthwhile.

Rubbish 23 Nov 2009
Somehow this remote degrades the sound quality quite significantly making it useless to me, also no radio and no lock function, stay away.
