I first heard of Headpins at a H/M disco all those years ago. The Green Man in Leytonstone, Neal Kaye was the DJ. On came what i was to discover was the title track after it finished i went up to ask Neal what the hell it was. "Headpins there from Canada it`s a great album" so the following day i went out & tracked down a copy. I`m glad i did. Headpins hail from Canada. They were put together by Brian "To Loud" Macloud & Ab Bryant as a side project from there main band Chilliwack. The truth is Chilliwack never gained a reputation outside of Canada this was not the same for Headpins. There 1st album "Turn It Loud" did great business in the Canadian market but it was with the release of this there 2nd album that they got international success. So what`s it like i hear you ask well.... If your a fan of whats now called AOR or bands such as Autograph, Def Lepperd, Brother Firetribe, Place Vendome etc or you like Melodic Rock.com then your going to love this album. "Singable Metal" is the word your looking for. Great catchy tunes you`ll walk away singing. There vocalist is one of the few female singers you can stand. Her voice is best described as Geddy Lee [ Rush] but with more gruff to it. All the songs here have big catchy backing vocals & the albums well produced. A great album thats very welcome as a realese finally on CD. If you like your Metal singable then this is a must buy.
