The repeater repeats 2 ports and not three. I foolishly bought it thinking that it would repeat one port to three further ports, thinking that one port was on the rear. I was being a bit quick and not thinking perhaps, but if you think this too, then beware! I may have to buy another with four ports!
Also for 65 quid its construction is pretty poor. The plastic casing seems flimsy and certainly not of £65 quality. Frankly the same for a USB hub would be about £5 if that. I can't imagine that the required chipset for a Firewire 800 is so great that it warrants this kind of price. I imagine it's more about opportunism. A price of £10-£20 for this product would seem fairer.

The product is fine generally, although the firewire cable that's supplied is very thick and inflexible. It can be awkward to position and I would suggest using your own cable to get the most out of it.
