I am generally happy with the playpen - the sides & gate are solid & sturdy, and it folds away easily for storage. However I was very disappointed with one aspect of the design. The padded floor mat has to be tied on to the sides with little strips of fabric. This is fiddly, but not too much of a problem if you are only going to do it once, and then leave the playpen up. If, however, like us you need to conserve space in your living-room & will be packing the playpen up & down quite often, it soon becomes very annoying. Most frustrating is that the silly little ties they have provided are only just barely long enough to tie a bow with, after several fiddly tries. If they were even just 2cm longer it would be so much easier & quicker... however, the whole issue could have been avoided if they would just have used cloth strips with poppers or, even better, velcro to secure the base. This would also have made it harder for baby to reach through & untie the strings.
The design of the ties is really annoying, and believe me, if you are fiddling about trying to tie all 6 of them with a crying baby in the background you will not thank Lindam for it. It's a cheap, corner-cutting solution to a problem, and badly lets down an otherwise fine product.
