Linda Rhodes was born in Barking. After leaving Barking Abbey School she studied English at Leicester University, followed by a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Studies at Aberystwyth. Linda's first book, The Dagenham Murder (co-authored with Lee Shelden and Kathryn Abnett), won the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger for Non-Fiction in 2006. Linda's latest book tells the fascinating history of the Dagenham Girl Pipers, the world's first girl band, who celebrated their 80th anniversary in 2010.
