One of the most awesome collector's guide that you can find right now. The logos and words with the white background on the hardcover are cool, like injected silver!!. The book itself is a very large and indept book that covers all the aspects of the game, from the most basic movement, passing for all collectibles and achievements, to a perfect vision of the multiplayer game, with analysis of all maps, the best positions, tricks, etc.
Furthermore, talking about the single player and co-op mode, this guide covers both aspects, giving you a perfect walkthrough during the game, with extensive tips about how to defeat the biggest boss in each chapter, where to find ammo, special weapons. Long description about characters and cool artwork pages.
If is not enought the game comes with a sampler cd, where you can listen some minutes of the impressive soundtrack. Plus a code to download a strategy video (mine works) and 2 codes to download the e-guides of Gears Of War 1 and 2
About the multiplayer bonus characters and some skins, it had to do with the pre-orders, depending of the store you recieve one of others. And some of them are unlockable only if you played the beta or gears 1 and 2. Is a way to replay again the story. Anyway you have the store to download all the content that you want. But it has nothing to do with the guide.
As I said before, this guide is impressive, and a MUST HAVE for any Gears Of War fan.

the package came well in time for Christmas and my son loved it. it cost the same price for the limited edition had back as it would have for the normal paper back if i had bought it in town
