About Lily’s Kitchen Proper Food for Puppies

Puppies deserve the healthiest start in life. That’s why Lily’s Kitchen puppy food is made only with natural, nutritious ingredients and is tailored to supporting your fun-loving bundle of energy. Plus, it tastes absolutely delicious!

Puppies have their most rapid growth phase in their first three to six months of life - at this stage, they have a higher requirement for protein, energy and calcium than an adult dog. That's why our range of meals for puppies is made with a specially-tailored meat content, providing an extra boost of digestible protein and all the essential vitamins and minerals needed to support your growing pup.

Perfectly Puppy Dry Food

A delicious grain-free recipe made using freshly prepared chicken and salmon, combined with a host of healthy vegetables, fruits and herbs. It’s also high in glucoasmine and chondroitin to help support healthy joint development and prebiotics to help with digestion - great for pups with sensitive tums. Like all Lily’s Kitchen recipes, Perfectly Puppy is no average dry food. In fact the raw ingredients that make it into our food and the way we gently cook them is what makes it so very special. We clearly list all of our ingredients so what you read on the label is what you get. Although it’s a dry kibble, we do not use any rendered carcass meat (commonly labelled as either dried meat or meat meal.) We use freshly prepared muscle meat and specially selected nutritious organ meat in our recipes to provide the very best nutrition for your pup. The difference is obvious as soon as you open the bag. Our kibble is not greasy to touch – we do not add unnecessary fats for taste, only essential fats and oils for health. We do not add any artificial colours, preservatives or sweeteners Lily’s Kitchen dry food is only made with yummy, natural ingredients so it smells and tastes amazing.

Puppy Wet Food Recipes

Like all Lily’s Kitchen wet food, Chicken Dinner for Puppies and Organic Dinner for Puppies are two recipes that will delight both you and your pup. The freshly prepared raw ingredients (including lots of lovely meat and NO meat meal) make for a truly delicious smelling and tasting recipe. All the raw ingredients are gently cooked once to ensure they're safe and that all the nutritional goodness is retained for your puppy's benefit. Chicken Dinner for puppies is a delicious grain-free recipe in 400g tins, great for big hungry puppies. Organic Dinner for puppies is a 100% certified organic recipe in 150g trays, perfect for smaller puppies.

What makes Lily's Kitchen puppy food so good?

1) Our dry food is made with freshly prepared muscle meat and specially selected nutritious organ meat.

2) None of our foods contain meat meal.

3) Tailored protein and calcium levels, plus added glucosamine and chondroitin to support pups in their growth phase.

4) We add prebiotics to promote healthy digestion.

5) We use a blend of 14 specially-selected holistic and botanical herbs for optimum health.

6) We use high-quality chelated minerals as they’re more easily absorbed.

7) All ingredients are gently cooked just once to retain all the goodness and nutritional benefits of each and every one.

8) No unnecessary additives, fats or sugars.

9) 100% goodness - delicious, wholesome ingredients.

10) Our recipes are nutritionally complete, to keep all dogs in the best of health.

A holistic approach - from the inside out

Strong bones: We supplement our recipes with calcium, phosphorous and other minerals, which are essential for bone formation and maintenance.

Joints: We use a natural sulphur-containing compound produced by kelp in the ocean (called MSM) to promote good joint health.

Lean muscles: The freshly prepared muscle and organ meat we use for our food for puppies is full of highly digestible protein - essential for good muscle and healthy tissue growth.

Kidney & liver health: Our recipes contain milk thistle and dandelion, which may act to protect and repair the liver cells.

Healthy immune system: Our nutritious food helps maintain a healthy immune system, to support disease resistance.

Shiny coat and healthy skin: The ingredients we use are packed full of phytonutrients and essential fatty acids which can help achieve itch-free skin and a gleaming coat.

What goes into our food?

We are extremely passionate and very particular about what goes into our recipes.

Over 100 dedicated producers and farmers work to provide us with nature's harvest. Each recipe varies, using flavourful combinations that may include:

- Freshly prepared muscle meat

- Essential nutrient-containing organ meat

- Sustainably sourced fish

- Vibrant hand-picked fruits

- Vibrant vegetables

- Seeds and pulses

- Spirulina

- Chrondroitin & Glucosamine

- Nucleotides

Added love with botanical herbs

There's something naturally nutritious about herbs forming part of your pet's diet. This adds a full spectrum of nutrition and wellness. 'Let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food' is a mantra we subscribe to. We work with a specialist pet herbalist who is an expert at putting together the combination of hand-milled herbs and phytonutrients in each of our recipes, including:

Alfalfa: This natural antioxidant is recommended for healthy joints, mental agility and even bad breath.

Aniseed: Excellent for the digestion and maintaining happy stomachs.

Burdock Root: Considered to be a blood cleanser and purifier, and a tonic for the liver and kidneys.

Celery Seeds: Supports the natural reduction of excess uric acid in the joints and can help calm the digestive system.

Chamomile Flowers: Soothing and calming, chamomile can help to relieve anxiety, or encourage dogs to settle at night.

Chickweed: Known to have a wide range of herbal benefits for maintaining optimal health, particularly with itchy skin.

Chicory Root: Benefits the gut's good bacteria and is used as a prebiotic to encourage beneficial bacteria.

Cleavers: Cleanses the liver and detoxifies the lymphatic system. This rich source of vitamin C can help soothe dry skin and skin irritations.

Dandelion Root: Supports healthy function of all the organs as well as keeping a healthy balance of microbial gut flora.

Golden Rod: Good for kidney, bladder and urinary tract health. May also help keep skin clear.

Kelp: Rich in essential nutrients, especially iodine which can support regular thyroid function. Helps maintain optimum coat and skin condition.

Marigold Petals: This herb, taken internally, can help cleanse and support all organs of the body, notably the skin.

Milk Thistle Seeds: Full of antioxidants, these assist in eliminating toxins and maintaining good liver health.

Nettles: Valuable addition to the phytonutrient mix, specifically as a nutritive and restorative tonic for overall health.

Passion Flowers: Helps to calm dogs who are nervous or anxious. We add the flowers to our Bedtime Biscuits to help with a restful night's sleep.

Rosehips: A rich source of vitamin C, rosehips have been known to support the immune system and help with the absorption of essential minerals.

Turmeric: Aids digestion and helps support liver function and new blood cell production.

Before my puppy tried Lily's Kitchen he would hardly touch his food(and i'd tried him on quite a few different brands)but since feeding him Lily's Kitchen he doesn't leave scrap of food. He absolutely loves it.

So far he's tried the puppy food..the Organic Chicken Vegetable Bake and the Bedtime Biscuits and he's loving them all.

I can't recommend Lily's kitchen enough - definitely by far the best dog food i've come across so far and also the best smelling!

I changed from royal canin to this after researching online - started making my own dog food but too time consuming. Lily's kitchen is perfect and everything is organic.

My new puppy has a combination of wet and dry food. She loves Lily's Kitchen Organic Kitchen. It is such a great product and well packaged. It settled her stomach after her second injections in a flash, and I have only heard good things about this product. My puppy certainly loves it!

This puppy food is definitely not worth the money.
I decided to try my puppy on it as Lily's Kitchen is supposed to be a high quality holistic food with no additives. The food was extremely soggy, which resulted in my puppy having diarrhoea for 4 days. I followed the guidelines by adding a small amount of the new food to my puppy's current diet gradually increasing to avoid stomach upsets. I immediately stopped Lily's kitchen and so did the diarrhoea.
My other 2 dogs were also on Lily's adult wet and dry food, they also had the runs constantly. One of them developed sore itch skin, which is surprising because he has never suffered from skin problems.
In my opinion the ingredients in Lily's Kitchen dog food are not as advertised. Very disappointing indeed.

My westie (15 weeks old) didn't get a good start to life being ripped from his mummy at only 6 weeks and then being kept in a shed by a local dealer for 2 weeks until I came to the rescue. He struggled to keep most foods down except for my home cooking (!) On bought food (which included some of the very best and most expensive from the vets) he had stale breath and really really bad wind (rear end wind) which could clear the sitting room of people in less than 10 seconds! His poo was always sloppy and every now and then some blood and mucus would appear in his poo - the vet said not to worry but I was concerned. He was also regularly nibbling at his front gets as if he was itching all the time. Consequently, I found myself having to feed him gourmet rice (he likes Jasmine rice) and Morrison's extra tasty chickens with some veggies mashed in. As you can guess, this was time consuming and very costly given a cooked chicken costs £6 and lasted him for about 4 meals. I discovered Lily's Kitchen via the recent TV documentary and thought I'd give it a go with him. Well, he absolutely adores all the foods I have tried him with so far. He loves the breakfast crunch (it smells so pleasant even I would eat it!), he goes nuts for the wet food and the biscuits - it all looks so healthy and smells nice - his little nose is straight in the bowl and he doesn't come up for air until he's finished the whole lot. He's not vomited any of it back, his poo is nice and firm (and easy to pick up rather than having to spoon it off the floor) and there are no more foul doggy farts to contend with (he's been on Lily's kitchen now for a week).Read more ›

Pup bounces around in delight when Lily's Kitchen food is opened. He seems to smell it and certainly eats this with relish. He eats most things ( socks, cushions, toys, twigs, blankets etc) but at least this is nourishing and not harmful. Seriously, he's not keen on a couple of less expensive Pedigree foods. Lily's appear to be ethically sourced and derivative free, so I'm happy and so's he. Another win/ win.

I was looking for a good quality puppy wet food to mix with the kibble I give her. After a bit of research and the fact that our vet also recommends this, I replaced the breeder's wet food mix he was using and went with this. As I have a labrador, she is not fussed at all about what she eats however I did find that the food has a pleasant, healthy, meaty smell. It is very smooth and therefore found it very easy to insert into kong type toys to freeze and then give to our puppy. We also use a green feeder to slow our lab's eating and found that I could easily spread small bits of this all over the feeder without it falling off the humps. Overall, a great grain free wet food for puppies - the only down side is that it is very expensive hence 4 stars.
