I bought this item and I was happy at the beginning.
It comes with no instructions manual but well... I was able to manage without it. Although it can be confuse sometimes.
I used very few times (less than 10 times) and I did take good care of it.
Somehow, after 1 year it stop working. I just get a blue screen and but no image.
I tried to contact the seller a few times and until now I have no response.
I keep trying to contact the seller and I hope he will respond sooner or later.

First of all I have to say that I have returned the product. Not because it had any flaws, which it did not, but because I resolved live monitoring via a wireless solution which is more adequate for me since I shoot interviews and need to be able to control everything remotely as I work by myself.

The product is rock solid and if you follow the instructions easy to use.
The quality of the monitor is great. There are clearly more expensive products out there, but in my opinion this a product you can work with no problem at all. I connected it to my 5DM3. All went well. No issues. Comes with external battery slots for Sony type standard batteries which are not too expensive. The quality of the hood was very good as well. I read some negative comments about this somewhere and was a little worried, but I found it to be ok. Needless to say, that all camera gear and accessories has to be treated with care anyway and you cannot expect certain pieces of equipment to withstand a shelling.

If you are looking for a 7" inch monitor without breaking the bank, this is a very good option.

The sun hood broke the first time I tried using this monitor. I tried opening it up but it seemed a bit stiff so I applied slightly more pressure (I didn't 'yank' it or anything) and it suddenly opened up. Unfortunately with the speed it opened I hinged it back just past the 90 degree point that is its normal opened position, and in so doing managed to sheer off both hinge 'lugs' that hold it in place. These lugs are tiny moulded plastic protrusions, which to my mind are quite inadequate for their purpose as they are too weak, and I imagine that over time and normal use these lugs could become weak and fail. This is a pity because I liked the simplicity of this hood and its dual use as a protective cover for the monitor when not in use. I'll try using super glue to fix it.

If you attach a large battery to the unit don't expect the little ball and socket head to support the monitor unless positioned completely vertically. The weight is likely to cause the monitor to fall in the direction of the tilt. I wouldn't risk fixing the monitor to the camera's hot shoe either. It's too heavy and could break your hot shoe if nudged.

Apart from that the function of the monitor is pretty much what you can expect for a product of this price. I would have liked to have had more control of the colour temperature and exposure of the screen but for focusing it's OK.

This is my third monitor and far better quality/ features than the other two and it was cheaper too. Highly recommend the peaking makes focusing so much easier when working at distance or in Lowe light.

I love this monitor. I have it on top of one of my video cameras and use it to monitor focus and iris control under difficult conditions (in theatres). I love the peaking and its really useful on distant shots where the performers faces are too small to focus too. I don't use the Zebra on it so can't comment about that.

Works a treat and at such a competitive price, you can't go wrong. highly recommended.
