This is a HD portable field monitor, and it does a terrific job. Unfortunately, the unit is supplied without a battery. This means you have to order not only a battery (I bought a Panasonic Camcorder Battery CGA-DU21, which does the job) *and* a charger for the battery (deep breath: Ex-Pro Panasonic CGA-DU06, CGA-DU06A/1B, CGA-DU07, CGA-DU07A/1B, CGA-DU07E/1B, CGA-DU12, CGA-DU12A/1B, CGA-DU14, CGA-DU14A/1B, CGA-DU14E/1B, CGA-DU21, CGA-DU21A/1B, CGA-DU21E/1B, VW-VBD070, VW-VBD120-H, VW-VBD140, VW-VBD210 Digital Camera Travel Charger, UK, USA, Canada & Europe - 2 Hour Fast Charge - for Panasonic Camcorder NV-GS150, NV-GS150B, NV-GS150EGS).
A field monitor is useless unless you can use it in the field, and few of the fields I shoot in have an electrical power point conveniently to hand.
You'll also need to buy a hot-shoe mount adaptor if you want to mount the monitor on your DSLR camera.
The instructions are written flimsily in pidgin English.
All that aside, there's not a lot of competition in the field monitor arena, and this (eventually) does the job splendidly.

Beware, the seller KLDeals is not in the UK, but in China, and if there are any problems you will not be covered by any EU consumer protection laws.
There are two main problems with the monitor that made me want to return it.
1) the image from EOS 5D Mark ii only shoes at about 2/3 size through HDMI. This is known issue, so avoid if you own this camera
2) the hot show mount is not included.
I have spoken with the manufacturer, and they tell that this seller has had many complaints, so do avoid buying from KLDeals. rather, buy direct from the manufacturer or one of their approved resellers.

I've used this monitor with a Canon HV40 and a Canon 550D. Great for framing and pulling focus, and for reviewing your clips at the end of a video session.
