More About the Author

Anna Jacobs grew up in Lancashire and emigrated to Australia, but still visits the UK regularly to see her family and do research, something she loves. She is addicted to writing and she figures she'll have to live to be 120 at least to tell all the stories that keep popping up in her imagination and nagging her to write them down. She's also addicted to her own hero, to whom she's been happily married for many years.

Anna also writes fantasy novels as Shannah Jay.

To come from a home as she did where there was little love and then to escape and make a life for herself . . . I just couldn't put it down. It had everything, love, love lost, hatred, kindness - you name it. I love a story with real meat and potatoes and not that sappy stuff that so many writers fall back on. This is a book about a real woman - not a hot house passion flower!

I love all Anna Jacobs books. I met her when she gave a talk at my local library and started buying her books then. She is such a brilliant storyteller that I can immerse myself in whichever book I am reading and this one was no different. It is obvious that Anna has researched her storyline as usual.

An excellent book - if you are into history - found it so hard not to speed read as I wanted to know the outcome instantly and had to force myself to read each paragraph to not lose out on detail - highly recommended - Anna Jacobs rates at the top of my authors....Maz

It's a really good book. The last book I read for Anna Jacobs wasn't as good as the other books I've read for her, so I was hesitant before I finally bought this one. I was very happy to find that Anna Jacobs is back to her old style of writing. I loved this book.
