I bought this EP with the same curiosity as everyone else. Can Juliette Lewis cut it like so many celebrities HAVEN'T before her? Well the truth is she can! She has a fabulous voice with an amazing range and backed by a brilliant band who obviously know what they're doing. The first track is the hit on the album but the one to listen to is American Boy - great lyrics and great riffs.

The great thing about this band is you cannot pigeon hole them into any music category. Its just ROCK! Plain and simple!

I thoroughly enjoyed You're Speaking My Language and as a debut album it was a good attempt. Juliette & The Licks really shine live though and the recent gig at Edinburgh's Liquid Room was excellent and showed their raw edgey punk rock style to it's best. This EP is akin to their live sound and is rawer and edgier than their more polished full length album. I rate it highly and it really grows on you after a few listens, especially with the volume cranked up. Juliette Lewis's vocal style and attitude is perfect for this music sector and is on the way to vying with Amy Lee as the new Rock/Metal Queen.

I would whole heartedly agree with both people who have reviewed this already and some.I saw her live at Nottingham Rescue Rooms about 3 years ago and this brought back memories of Mz Juliette stage diving into the crowd. This cd does indeed have rawer sound compared to her 1st 2 official cds. You would think the band had been together for years.My description of this cd is as 1 of the other reviewers said just pure rock music.The hairs on the back of my neck are standing on end as I listen to it really does sound so fresh. If you like rock music of any kind invest in this.
