5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced romance 13 Jun 2011
By TerryB
Format:Paperback
Fire-fighter and Paramedic, Chloe Donovan, (Donny), is infatuated with her best friend, Caity, a dispatcher in her department. Donny believes in keeping her personal life and her work separate. The situation is also complicated by the fact that Caity's younger sister, Pauli, also works with Donny as a fire-fighter and medic. In fact, Donny is her supervisor. Will Donny relax her work/pleasure rule and ask Caity for an actual date? After all, Donny and Caity don't work directly together.
Kristy is Donny's supervisor and her mentor. Kristy is hiding secrets from her past that finally catch up with her, throwing her life off balance and into a turmoil. What will happen to her and her job? Will Donny and Caity be able to help Kristy overcome her problems before her job is at risk?
A fast paced book that has lots of excitement throughout. First there are the main characters, Donny and Caity, then there is Kristy, they are all trying to sort their lives out in one way and another. Entering into the mix is Pauli and her life,. Plus all the excitement of their jobs in the field. Add to this the ex of one of the women turning up and the action could get explosive. I really enjoyed this book, it provided a good insight into the world of fire-fighters and paramedics as well as being a romance too. Uniforms and romance, an excellent combination. It's on my to read again shelf.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved it 3 Aug 2013

This book was great. I love medical stuff and I love emergency stuff so this was great. It had more than one sweet love story. I dont know why the product description makes it sound so dramatic. It was a nice romance with an emergency services backdrop.

1.0 out of 5 stars Griet 13 July 2011
By Griet - Published on Amazon.com

How the previous reviewer gave this book 5 stars I still don't get. The book was too contived and predictable for my taste. I had to skip over huge parts to keep some kind of interest. I would not recommend this book if you are looking for a good story.

2.0 out of 5 stars I've been in the Fire service for over 30 yrs 9 Aug 2011
By Bealer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I have been in the Fire service for over 30 years and I can only say don't get this book if you want to get a feel for working in the Fire service. I like the one star reviewer don't know what book the five star reviewer read. I'm also not sure what gives the five star reviewer the qualifications to write that this book "provided a good insight into the world of fire-fighters and paramedics". It's only a good insight if you also believe that an episode of the old TV show Emergency is realistic. I also skipped over many parts of the book as the writing did little to engage me. I found the characters reactions very unbelievable especially for those characters that supposedly been in and around the Fire service all their lives, anyone who's "family has been in the fire service for so long that our blood has soot in it" wouldn't react the way Caity, one of the main chacarters, reacts to most of the stressful sitiutations she had to face. I gave this book two stars and not one star only because some parts of the book did put a slight smile on my face.
5.0 out of 5 stars What a Sweet Rush 1 Nov 2013

This is the first book that I have read from Jeanine Hoffman and I was pleasantly suprised. This is a great book. She has presented fire/rescue personnel in a positive yet real light. Through this book, the reader is able to visualize (and to a certain extent understand)some of the trials /stresses that medics and firefighters go through on a daily basis. It also allows the reader to know just what a close-knit family these people become while doing their job. The characters are very well developed and the story flows nicely. Caity is such a sweet character and Chloe is equal part smart and sexy. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for these characters. I would highly reccomend checking this author out!
