Though the book has a copywrite of 2008, I found the photographs well dated, and unless you use a Hasselblad no other information is given, the set ups are basic and no tips or hints of lighting or ways you can improve on it are given. personally I felt let down by the book.

I was shocked when I read this book was published in January 2009 because the content is very firmly stuck in the 90's. Simply put the book does present to the reader 50 lighting set-ups but those set-ups are styled form the 1990's and what left me speechless was a Barbara Cartland reproduction of an old lady draped across the sofa. And yes, I really do mean that they've reproduced this with a Barbara Cartland lookalike.
It took me 5 minutes to decide that this book was going back and I nearly choked when I found out it was a best seller.

If you are looking for inspiration, get another book. If you want easy to understand diagrams and illustrations that get the job done, buy this book.
