I think this is perhaps the best led bulb I've bought for coverage so far and at only £7 well worth it. The quality of construction isn't as high as Philips bulbs and it doesn't look as good on or off, but it puts out a wider coverage than any bulb near this price and the colour is ok too, but it could be a little warmer for me.
I haven't bought any of the Philips master range so I can't compare it with them performance wise

Don't expect it too look exactly like a regular tungsten bulb as the picture suggests, because it still has a dark shadow for over 2 thirds of the stem part before the visible join, even when off, but most of the globe part is clear. The plastic isn't as good quality as some bulbs and the join has rather rough edges with some more opaque spots visible up close, also there's dot printing around it so it's not exactly a thing of beauty up close.
Although it gives more coverage than most cheap led bulbs it still doesn't spread the light evenly enough and shadows are harsh compared to incandescents. I suspect the beam angle is about 240 degrees with most light coming from only 140ish.

Hopefully this will shed some light on why my electricity bills are so high. It is not quite as warm as a tungsten bulb but is a decent yellow not the hideous blue cast of some LEDs. brightness is good too, comparable to a 60 watt bulb and unlike fluorescent is good for reading

I've been using energy saving bulbs for a very long time now and virtually all the bulbs in my house are the ones that are long and tubular and to be quite frank, they are ugly. I have always enjoyed the energy saving of the those bulbs but often missed the shape and style of original bulbs and their brightness.

This bulb is great! The day it arrived I fitted in my dining room, above my dining table. The bulb I took out was one of those ugly ones and immediately this looked so much better. Its a lot more attractive. What struck me the most though was the 'quality' of the light. Its so much brighter than other energy saving bulbs of the same wattage. The manufacturer describes it as a `warm white' and I would say that is a very accurate description - its warm and inviting and my husband commented on the 'light' over dinner. He hadn't even noticed that a new bulb was in. That pleased me and we ended up having a discussion about energy saving bulbs for about ten minutes lol

This product is very good quality, lights up instantly, the light is bright but warm, and the light output is fantastic for the actual energy that will be used. Good for the environment, attractive in your home.

I am incredibly impressed and this brand has a new regular customer! I will buy this next time I need a bulb.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I have been using this bulb in my dining room for one week so far and I am very pleased with this bulb.

NOTE: I was contacted directly by the manufacturer and was sent this item for free. I was asked to use and thoroughly test this item and to write an honest review. My being given a free item in no way influenced my review of this product.

In the never ending quest for most of us in trying to save 'some' money you cannot go wrong with low wattage LED lightbulbs. They blow the old incandescents out of the water cost-wise.

The initial outlay appears expensive but the potential length of service is outstanding plus energy saving light bulbs have come a long way in a short space of time. No longer do you turn it on, it glows very dimly, warming up and gradually getting brighter. Now you switch it on and "boom!" (don't worry it won't explode!) you have that instant light you used to get from those old inefficient 100w bulbs that cost a fortune to run.

This LED light bulb from Lighting Ever is the bayonet style fitting and in use gives a nice warm white glow for the evening as opposed to a bright daylight white light and it does cast light in every direction well. This is a 7w which is the equivalent of your old incandescent 40w and it does come on at 40w immediately! It appears to be well made too. It's all good and well saying the bulb will run for years but will the build quality last that long?

The manufacturer quotes an 80% energy saving and a lifespan of 50,000hrs!(on the packaging) If it does last that long this means you can have a lamp on for 6 hours per day for over 22 years with this single bulb. You would go through around 30+ old incandescents in this time. If true I will be 64 by the time I need to change this bulb. I'll get a spare then! :)

This light bulb will pay for itself in a few years which isn't bad going when you consider that many supposedly energy/money saving things that are thrown at us take longer than that (solar panels, a wind turbine, a hybrid car), and most things we buy never pay for themselves. For years, you'll enjoy high-quality light and you won't have to worry about changing bulbs!

I was kindly sent this free light bulb by the manufacturer in order to review.

Recommended.
