More About the Author

'Wiggle Jiggle' & 'Cuddle Muddle' - two of my picture story ebooks are on offer at a great low price.
Feel free to download and have a wee read :)

Alan Dapré lives in rainy Ayrshire where the people are sunny. He was a Deputy Headteacher, radio & TV scriptwriter - but still is a published author and illustrator. Alan's plays have been broadcast on the radio and published for schools. He wrote Brum, Bafta nominated Boohbah ... and other telly stuff.

As well as publishing traditionally, Alan writes and illustrates stories for ebooks. He is especially proud of Cuddle Muddle, the first ebook from the Wee Panda Bear Picture Books Series.

Alan loves sharing stories with his wee daughter, and you, of course.

Here is some of his published work:

***
'Eggy Leggy' - is the third in the Wee Panda Bear Series. Published in 2013 it tells the tale of a panda who finds a very runny egg. It's all about making friends and coming out of your shell.

'Wiggle Jiggle' - Wiggle Jiggle is the second picture book in the Wee Panda Bear Series by Alan Dapre. First published in 2012, it is a fixed layout ebook with a magnified text feature for easy reading.

Plot summary - 'Alone on her birthday, Wee Bear goes to find her friends. No one is at home as they are preparing a big surprise!'

'Cuddle Muddle' - A sunny funny story about a Wee Panda Bear who loses her wee black glasses and goes in search of a cuddle. She hugs a hippo and cuddles a croc and soon gets in a muddle! (2012)

'The Finders' - a chilling, thrilling play about a boy who stumbles across something not of this earth. It is an encounter that will change his life forever. The clock is ticking, the lights are shining, and Kiran's incredible destiny awaits. (2012)

'Beanpole Billy' - comic picture book about a boy who is mistaken for a teacher. (2001)

'Amy's Antigravity Armbands' - a picture book about a girl who learns to swim ... in the air! (2001)

'The Boss' - a mysterious play about a boring boy who is not all he seems. (2001)

'Another Level' - a play that plays with reality. What if your life was just a computer game? (2000)

'Time Ship' - And what if your spaceship was heading unstoppably into The Sun? [Play] (2000)

'Beware The Wolf' - a scary play about a caretaker who is on the prowl. (1999)

'Everything You Need To Know When You're 7' - a non-fiction book with made up funny bits. (1996)

'Everything You Need To Know When You're 8' - yup, does what it says on the cover (1996)

'Everything You Need To Know When You're 9' - the title says it all :) (1997)

Lots of 'Brum' stuff that was fun to write but does not bring in any royalties ... (2001-2006)

Some of the nice things reviewers have said about my work:

'Everything You Need To Know When You're 8' - Is a confidentially written, jokey look at life from an 8-year-old's viewpoint. There are capital letters, italics and asterisks all over the place in this humorous book, pitched at just the right level. An ideal fun book for a classroom corner or a birthday present. THE SCHOOL LIBRARIAN

A slightly subversive and therefore highly attractive guide to some of the things eight-year-olds should know. It gives some useful advice, couched in a style that appeals enormously to an eight-year-old's developing sense of humour. THE GOOD BOOK GUIDE

'Everything You Need To Know When You're 7' - Full of sublime insights. THE OBSERVER
