'Two delicious Lighthouse Keeper Stories in one book!

In:-
`The Lighhouse Keeper's Lunch', the greedy seagulls keep stealing Mr Grinling's packed lunch.
Will Mrs Grinling think of a way to stop them?

In:-
`The Lighthouse Keeper's Picnic', it's Mr Grinling who's the greedy one. But, after the village picnic, he wishes he hadn't eaten quite so many of Mrs Grinling's scrumptious snacks........'

General Overview:-

The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch:-
`What would you do if some greedy seagulls were stealing your lunch?'

Particularly if the scavenging seagulls had a bit of attitude!
The three in this story, Tom, Fred and Bert think that `the lunch is scrumptious`, that Mrs Grinling is `a great cook' and that `the peach surprise, in particular, is excellent`!
Despite the Grinlings' various attempts to thwart the interception of the lunch basket down the wire, it doesn't work! Even when they involve `Hamish the Cat', normally an `accomplished seagull chaser', who proves to be rather reluctant in one particular mission!
However.....the Grinlings do finally succeed with a very cunning plan indeed!

The Lighthouse Keeper's Picnic:-
The Grinlings get up late and are a bit forgetful!
Mr G doesn't perform too well.....apart from tasting a little bit here and a little bit there.......... the day takes a turn for the worse.......and the night!
Mrs G is very cross and imposes some harsh sanctions, but although they should be, they don't seem to make any difference...........is there any cheating going on, perhaps?
But at the end, Mr Grinling finds something he likes doing even better than eating!

'Once there was a lighthouse keeper called Mr Grinling. At night time he lived in a small white cottage perched high on the cliffs. In the day time he rowed out to his lighthouse on the rocks to clean and polish the light...
Mr Grinling was a most industrious lighthouse keeper. Come rain......or shine, he tended his light.'
