I love this book! Dan has helped my business grow by teaching me what I need to know to make my animations really shine! Thanks Dan "The Man" Ablan! I can't wait for your next book this summer! Amazon, save me a copy of "Inside L[6]"!

2.0 out of 5 stars I didn't care for it 4 Feb 1999

Format:Paperback
THIS BOOK IS FOR 5.0 AND NOT 5.5, I was disappointed. if you still use 5.0 it's OK, very basic. It's perfect for the user who is just starting out or, "lost the user manual"

When I entered LW3d for the first time I realised that I was going to need some serious help with understanding this rather complex animationsystem. And this book certainly does the job. Ablan takes you through every dialogbox and describes every single function in a easy way. He'll teach you everything between basic Metanurbing to morphing facial expressions and matte compositing. this book gives you the basic knowledge needed to produce high-end animations. Giving this book some time and practise, you will really learn how to master the Power of LightWave.

4.0 out of 5 stars Still usefull, but that's LW 5.0 6 Dec 1998
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Before I bought this book I had read all the comments you can see above, and had been full of hopes that it is gonna be a very informative and full-of-tricks book. Well, it's Ok about general features of LW, but there is a few info about up-to-date technics and poor examples. I'd rather recommend "Inside LW" by Dan Ablan, it's all about LW5.5

5.0 out of 5 stars I've got the LW3D Power with the book!.. 27 Nov 1998
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I always run on a PowerMac G3-300 with LW3D. I hate Windows but i can use LW3D on my Mac.It's great, because there's no 3DMax or Softimage version in MacOs and there's no book about "LW3D for PowerMac". But that book boosts my power, I really feel great with that book.
