One of the best kept secrets of Celtic music 5 April 2013

I spent one year in the Highlands of Scotland at about the time of the writing of this music. I had just heard of Ossian before, and happened to be in Glasgow for a weekend in the Spring of 1987, and the band was just playing in a major downtown theater at that time. It was full packed and I was just lucky to be let in, in the company of a few people met at the youth hostel.
What followed was probably the most memorable musical experience of my whole life. Among many tunes, they must have played this album entirely. All stunning multi-instrumentalists. And I even got the chance to meet Iain MacDonald, the piper and flautist of the band then, on the bus on my way back to Fort-William where I was staying then. The memory of this concert will stay with me for ever. I have always kept the cassettes bought then after the concert, and am now buying the CD's. I have been privileged to get to hear them on stage, and I hope that the privilege of knowing their music will also be shared by many more. This CD is probably their "magnus opus", a "concept album" of sorts, although all of their albums, including the first ones before Tony Cuffe's arrival, of course, are a must for any one fond of traditional Scottish music. Slàinte, and Rest In Peace, Tony Cuffe, you were amazing.
