The author is a sort of non-denominational Christian (ie more spiritual than religious) doctor, who uses her faith to help her to help her patients, all of whom know they are dying. A really lateral take on the scriptures, which explains stories from the Bible (eg Job) in a very gentle non theological, non bible bashing, non evangelical way, which makes the wisdom of the bible accessible. I bet her patients get a lot of reassurance from her.
