life after death, 25 Feb 2003
This review is from: Light After Death (Paperback)
This is a book about life after death. Like Raymond Moody's international bestseller "Life After Life" and subsequent titles, this book relates accounts of people who have had Near Death Experiences (NDEs). It also correlates this with the Baha'i teachings on life after death.
There is so much written by Baha'u'llah (founder of the Baha'i Faith) about the purpose of life and the life of the soul and its immortality; how it passes after death into other spiritual worlds of existence. Of course all the world religions talk of worlds beyond just this world of material existence but for most of us it is hard to perceive and understand and Baha'u'llah has written very clearly of the reality of life after death.
When relating stories of those who have encountered NDEs, it brings home to us the very real possibility of the existence of something outside our material body. Baha'u'llah and his son Abdu'l-Baha have taught that we are spiritual creatures and that our material existence is an opportunity to develop our spirituality. Furthermore, a study of the Baha'i writings on life after death can help us to appreciate this possibility even more.
For me this book interestingly combines Near Death Experiences with the importance of being aware of the Baha'i teachings on the life of the soul. It is not a long book, just 100 pages. It is quite easy to read and enlightening.
