When I was staying for some weeks at some friends' house, I was parked up in the attic ['the mad uncle in the attic', like Uncle Fester in The Addams Family] The planes inbound to Heathrow actually bisected the window above me. It got so that 15 mins before the first plane went over at about 5am, I would wake up and lie there in the quiet until that first faint rumble could be heard, becoming a shattering roar right overhead.
Earplugs were the solution. This particular type are reasonably efficient. They can make the difference between sleep and no sleep. I also have probs with a snorer. They save the night there, too. And hers do for her too, when I get snoring.
I like the bright colouring. It means they are easier to find when you drop them under the bed or down the back of the sofa bed.
