The Lifeventure clothes line is a tiny little marvel that weighs only a few grams, takes up less space than a single sock and should be in every traveller's bag if they're going away for a week or more. You won't always want to pay hotel laundry prices so it's perfect for a little bit of hand wash drying. Mine is currently on the hotel balcony with three pairs of knickers - all I need to get me to the end of my holiday - but I've used it widely for much bigger items.

The line consists of two stretchy lines twisted together - you just pull a corner of your laundry through a twist in the lines and it sticks in place. Will hold a soggy t-shirt with ease. For heavier items you can just rest them over the top of the line.

Generally I take two as the line is not very long. You're likely to be restricted by availability of things to hook it to and the hooks on the end are quite fat - on mine one of the plastic 'stoppers' has fallen off to give a bare hook that often fits into things better.

The line is only ever as good as what you fix it to - if I had my time again I'd probably buy the version you can get with sticky suckers on the end as well as the hooks in order to give your more options. One of those will stick to tiles or windows whereas the hook alone is more tricky to use.

Lifesaver! 31 Dec 2010
I spent 7 months travelling and this item was one of the most valuable I had with me. Could be used on camping or in hotel rooms to dry my handwash. I was even surprise by the weight it was able to cope with. THe only negative point is that it is maybe a little too short and you should consider take 2 of them with you.

This was one of the best things I took with me on my recent 6 week trip in Africa. Very versatile in terms of where I could hang it, very quick and easy to use, and small and light to carry - perfect for backpacking!

Travel washing line
Did not rate this item highly as the quality was quite poor. The clips to attach the washing line are made of plastic, which did not seem sturdy when washing line was streatched. Read more

Not as in the picture!
The item in the picture has strong looking clips similar to one I bought about 20 years ago. The one I received had flimsy plastic clips that would not fit over a hotel balcony and... Read more

Usefull
Good for holidays abroad but is only of value if your balcony has appropriate railings to fix to. I can see this being very usefull for campers with plenty of trees around.
