The Lifeventure clothes line is a tiny little marvel that weighs only a few grams, takes up less space than a single sock and should be in every traveller's bag if they're going away for a week or more. You won't always want to pay hotel laundry prices so it's perfect for a little bit of hand wash drying. Mine is currently on the hotel balcony with three pairs of knickers - all I need to get me to the end of my holiday - but I've used it widely for much bigger items.

The line consists of two stretchy lines twisted together - you just pull a corner of your laundry through a twist in the lines and it sticks in place. Will hold a soggy t-shirt with ease. For heavier items you can just rest them over the top of the line.

Generally I take two as the line is not very long. You're likely to be restricted by availability of things to hook it to and the hooks on the end are quite fat - on mine one of the plastic 'stoppers' has fallen off to give a bare hook that often fits into things better.

The line is only ever as good as what you fix it to - if I had my time again I'd probably buy the version you can get with sticky suckers on the end as well as the hooks in order to give your more options. One of those will stick to tiles or windows whereas the hook alone is more tricky to use.

The item in the picture has strong looking clips similar to one I bought about 20 years ago. The one I received had flimsy plastic clips that would not fit over a hotel balcony and suckers that would not hold any weight.
Very disappointed!

For something so simple it really came in handy whilst I went travelling for 10 months across Australia and South East Asia! Asides from my travel towel, this was the next thing I felt was the best purchase I made! There are always times when you do not want to fork out money to just wash a few items of clothing, or when funds are running low and you simply can not afford to pay someone else to wash and dry your clothes as there are no self-service laundrettes. There is also the worry (in some countries) that your clothes may go missing! The clothes line is a great size and can be attached to bunkbeds/ tree branches etc... I have now passed my pegless clothes line onto my friend who is off travelling next week! Great item!

I spent 7 months travelling and this item was one of the most valuable I had with me. Could be used on camping or in hotel rooms to dry my handwash. I was even surprise by the weight it was able to cope with. THe only negative point is that it is maybe a little too short and you should consider take 2 of them with you.

Just purchased my own as my brother is using the one i regularly 'borrow' from him, and it was about time i got my own!

Very versatile, and when coupled with a tube of travel wash becomes worth it's weight in gold! I've used one of these mostly when motorcycle camping and it's great because it allows a longer time between expensive sites with laundry's considering the limited amount of carrying capacity on a bike. Also great for backpackers, as this is what my brother's original line was purchased for.

The one just purchased here is identical to the one i've borrowed, and hopefully will last just as long. My brother bought his at least four years ago, and we've both used and abused it all around the world with no signs of it giving up.... All in all, very pleased.

This was one of the best things I took with me on my recent 6 week trip in Africa. Very versatile in terms of where I could hang it, very quick and easy to use, and small and light to carry - perfect for backpacking!

I'm just ordering another as the last one was borrowed ( seemingly permanently ) by a relative. These things are wonderful if camping, caravanning, and in hostel/hotel rooms, for hanging up socks, underwear, etcetera, after being hand washed. They are basically two lengths of thin bungee cord entwined around one another with hooks ( and now also suction cups ) at either end. Suspend them, stretched, between two points, pull a bit of the entwined bungee cords apart, slip in the damp/washed item of clothing and it will be gripped by the entwined cords to dry. So simple that it's ridiculous. The line is light, rolls up to next to nothing and can be stored in a sock when travelling. No clothes pegs needed. Use again and again, year after year. Dirt cheap. Great! It'd be nice if they brought them out in 'day-glo' colours though, so as to make them more noticeable to dozy drongoes that come along and walk straight into such things.

Did not rate this item highly as the quality was quite poor. The clips to attach the washing line are made of plastic, which did not seem sturdy when washing line was streatched. Washing lines with the metal clips are much better. However, I received excellent customer service and fast delivery.
