i bought this album the same night i saw them live,at "king tuts",glasgow.it was amazing, and at such in intimate little venue, for such a monstrous loud band.i got in a chat about the album with the guitarist (not kirk) and drummer at the merch table before the set,and explained i didn't own anything they'd recorded, and i only knew of them because "phil anselmo" praised them so much for being so damn heavy.they promised me they'd put on an extra heavy show since i was a crowbar virgin, and they did indeed.not ever heard anything like it before, killer riffs and killer sound.this wall of noise, with kirks strange growl was insanely good for me.i've been listening to the album constantly since the gig,and will be at thier next gig aswell.totally awesome band and album.

The first song i heard from these monsters was the song "Planets Collide" which was amazin! Then i forgot about them. Then when i found out they had a new album out i downloaded it and its amazin. I bought it straight away and i love it. Im not usually into really heavy bands, tho i do love Metallica and Pantera, but i love crowbar. These guys arent like your nu-metal screamin bands like Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall whom i do not care for. The lead singer of Crowbar has a real METAL voice, a deep throat shredding growl even when he tries to sing normall like on "Coming Down", "Fall Back To Zero" and "Lifesblood".
The only song where he screams is Angel Wings which is probably the weakest track on the album. The only negative point id make about this album is tht there are no guitar solos which i do enjoy but they do turn out some of the best riffs ull ever here! This is wot REAL METAL is and im gonna buy a couple of their earlier albums to see wot they are like. This in my opinion is wot heavy metal should be. Incredibly heavy but still listenable and not over the top. 5 stars!

Crowbar are the type of band that will put most people off with one look at thier promo shots. The singer is what could be best described as the missing link. Truly hideous.
But, those people who are put off are not the type of people that should listen to this. This is the most honest and gripping metal album I've heard this year. The aforementioned singer has the most incredible voice i think i've heard, at least for a long time. He howls and croons and bellows, sometimes all at once, in the most amazing way. Definately a major highlight of this album.
The album does not boast crystal clear production, but has a thick, smoky quality that perfectly complements the sludgey guitars and drums, and the guys voice. Trust me, a pristine Andy Sneap job would not have done here.
Well worth your money if your after some authentic and crushing Metal
