A must read for anyone interested in the other side of football Life's a Ball goes to the heart of the game from the life of the physiotherapist. It's role which is very much undervalued especially in the lower leagues and proves their is a lot more to the job than just treating injuries. Fantastic insight proving that working for a football club in whatever capacity is not so much a job rather a way of life. The title or job description defines a very narrow view of your function, Being part of a staff team is probably more accurate. This is a fascinating look at life in football from a different angle.

A brilliant look into the other side of the footballing world. I really enjoyed stepping 'off the pitch' to hear the tales and stories told from behind the scenes which gives a new dimension to footballing autobiography. It was a fresh perspective and i thoroughly enjoyed every page! Fantastic, would recommend it. A must read!

I have known Ian for many years now. My Wife was having some Physio with him recently and came home with a copy of Life's A Ball. I remember many of the characters that Ian mentions in the book. There are many funny stories here and those of us of a certain age can resonate with the various stories. I know Ian once told me his favourite time in football was the ten years he had with Joe Royle at Oldham Athletic. That is hardly surprising given Joe's wit and wisdom . This is a real page turner and If you like Football from the golden age you will really enjoy this book. In the modern day the closeness between players and fans has ended and that is really sad. The Political Correctness Brigade have taken the game from the working classes but there are stories here that will take you back to better days. Well done Ian great book.

A must read for all whose paths crossed with Soss at one of the many football clubs he worked at.

Fans of each of the clubs should buy this book - you will not be disappointed.

seemed to all morph into one story. Nice enough guy with some good anecdotes. Good for the price, no classic.
