5.0 out of 5 stars One of our best baby buys 7 Sep 2010
By makker
We bought this cot when our son was around 6 months old, for putting up when we stayed the night at friends and, we hoped, trips abroad. This cot has since been an indespensible part of our travel kit, whether we are spending the night at granny's or going to India or the US for 2 weeks. Our son is almost 2 years old, and still uses the cot.

It is extremely light and portable. Will fit inside a suitcase, or can be slung over your shoulder as carry on. The first time putting it up i had to follow the instructions, but now we can put it up easily in about 2-3 mins.

The cot itself affords the child a lot of space. I have seen references to tying down or tethering this cot. We have never had to do this. I suppose if your child was to stand up and grab the sides and start shaking it it may be necessary. But the way the cot is designed (with all the area distributed at the bottom) means it is extremely unlikely to topple (in fact, i can't see that happening at all). I suppose at worst it may move across the room if the child was particularly aggro.

The mattress is not the thickest in the world. We often put a folded sheet under the cot to give some more comfort/protect from cold floors. This is fine however, as such items are always available and I'd rather not carry that bulk in the cot when we travel.

In short, I am really glad I purchased this instead of a heavier, solid-style travel cot. It has done the trick for us with minimum fuss. As I said in the title, this has been one of our top baby buys. I have certainly spent twice as much on things I have used a tenth as much. Not sure what age it is rated to, but our son is going on 22 months and I can see us using this for a while yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice little travel cot 22 July 2009
We have used this travel cot for the last two weeks while on holiday and it worked really great. I particularly like the fact that it folds up so small, unlike many other travel cots. Our little boy loved being in it and slept fine. A much much better option than the other travel cots on the market. My only downside was that the corners need to loop around something so that it won't topple over. I have seen other ones on the market that have an anti-topple device, although they are more expensive. And after we'd hooked a bed and cabinet to the corners, we realised they also assisted in the ability to climb out! We are going camping with it in a few weeks, and can use the tent pegs, but will probably have the cot inside our tent, on a groundsheet, so again, the toppling thing comes into consideration. Good cot though if you don't want to pay more and are happy to tie it round bed posts!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent buy 1 Sep 2009
By Ruby
I bought this travel cot as I was flying from London to Scotland and back with a train trip in between with my 11 month baby and not staying anywhere with an abundance of baby equipment. This cot is great as it is only 2.5kgs so the weight limit on the plane of 20kgs is not dented too much by it. Also it is pretty small when packed down so can fit in a decent sized suitcase (though is bigger than it looks from the perspective in the pictures). Putting up is not tricky and once you have found some furniture to tie it to it works a treat. Baby quite happy in it. The bigger 'put in the car boot' travel cots are easier to work with but I would highly recommend the LittleLife Arc-2 if weight and space are issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 8 April 2013
By Hanna
We bought a littlelife arc 2 for our daughter. We spent over a year traveling in south east Asia. This cot was constantly put up and taken down for over a year. Our daughter loved it, she played and napped in it during the daytime! It was a little sanctuary for her and her teddies! Slept in it beautifully at night time. We felt really happy and secure knowing that she was safe from mosquito's,spiders and other biting insects! It was a bit battered when we had finished with it, but what do you expect after such a long time of solid use. When we left to come home we donated it to a local family with a baby, that were living in a ghetto near the train lines. I felt that it was worth doing as it still had so much life left in it! I would def recommend!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well 28 Jan 2013

Bought this for use by our first grandson and he uses it whenever he stays over ... and has done so since he was just a few weeks old. It is well made and lightweight and fairly straight-forward to erect, although I would not describe it as a simple process. We have not yet used it outdoors but have also bought the sun shade so will do so when the weather improves.

We used this as our main cot at home as we travel lots and wanted our child to always have the same familiar sleeping experience whether home or away. Its been fantastic. We bought a custom made foam mattress from another website to fit the base as the one supplied is too thin. Its made teaching our child to sleep through the night really easy, as you can just sit on the floor next to it and reach a hand in to pat / comfort if needed, rather than hurting your back bending over a normal cot. Or if you need to you can lie down with your child in it, then once they've fallen asleep sneak out! Again much easier than the child falling asleep on you, then waking up when you transfer them to a normal cot. Our son slept in it till 20 months old then moved to a standard single bed really easily. Its now home to our second child, and is just starting to show some wear on the mesh door with a few threads coming away.

It is easy to put up and down although I have scratched the paint on a few walls as the poles are quite long.
