Product Description

As a dreadful twenty-first birthday present, Rosemary Sanguine was granted the gift of her own life by Thyme, a vampire who stopped her from becoming someone else’s next meal. Still, turning into a vampire was better than death, or so Rosemary thought. Now, she must deal with an unquenchable thirst for blood as she struggles to be a “good vampire,” one who does not kill humans.

However, for these vampires, feeding on animals is not an option. They can only feed on humans, specifically humans of the same blood type. From knocking over the Red Cross to milking her human boyfriend, Rosemary will try anything to keep her innocence intact.

On the other end of the spectrum is Thyme. He has no love for humans, or “cows” as he calls them. They are nothing more than food, and Rosemary is nothing more than an annoyance. But for Rosemary, Thyme is her only friend, the only one who understands her suffering, the only one who can save her from herself.

“You were right, Thyme. That story was not hopeful. Don’t you have any stories of happy vampire couples, like the ones in books and movies?”
“Life rarely imitates art, Rosemary, because art is always hopeful, but there is nothing hopeful about vampirism. It is a curse, and the benefit that excites so many people’s imagination, that of long life, so often becomes nothing but a prison sentence, one made with bars of unfulfilled desire, guarded by sentinels of sorrow and regret, and mastered only by a warden of death.”

This book contains mild language, strong violence, and some sexual themes. Reader discretion is advised.

I`m not the type of person that normally gives bad reviews but I really struggled with this book. I found Rose, the main character highly annoying and most of the time I just wanted to punch her. All she did was whinge all the way through about how her boyfriend didn`t understand.
Thyme was about as intimidating as barney the dinosaur, and when he kept using their full names all the time it started to get a bit tiresome. I felt aboslutely nothing for the characters and found myself not really caring what happens to them. The plot or lack of is shocking, it had no real direction and I found myself going round in circles. It was rather repetitive with no real focus or drive. I have never not finished a book before because I`ve always had to know the ending no matter how bad it is. This is the first book that I am really not bothered and I don`t know where the other review got the gore from. A few pints of blood is not classed as gore in my book.

Hard Core Horror 6 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is not twilight. The vampires in this book are for the most part merciless kilers. It is a great read, and the action comes fast and furious. Even the heroine, newly turned vampire, Rose kills a human alhough she "regrets " it afterwards. Warning - there is a lot of graphic violence in this novel, and although the relationship between Rose and the anti hero Thyme develops, this tale can in no way be described as a romance. If you like a good story and a book that is nothing like most of the other Fantasy Novels sold on Amazon, then try this out. For the price you won't find a better horror novel. Watch out for the cliffhanger of an ending!

The title pretty much says it all. Rose is attacked on her 21st birthday by Ceaser a vampire, but is saved by another vampire. But she was bitten so turns into a vampire. Rose trys to be a good vampire and not eat and kill humans. So she takes to stealing from blood banks, which doesn't work out to well. She trys to keep her human boyfriend and not eat him or her family. Rose is attracted to thier blood types so it makes it really hard. In the mean time Ceaser starts to kill her family to get to her and the vampire that saved her, but the police think she is doing it. So Rose must try to find food and try to save whats left of her family and her boyfriend. For me it had a little to much violence and killing in it, and some parts were boring so I would skip over pages. It ends with a cliff hanger which I assume leads into the second book. For me it was an okay book, but I don't think I would buy the next book in the series. I was given a free copy of this book in order to review it....By loves to read
Barely comprehensible gibberish 28 May 2012

I purchased this book by mistake while looking for another novel of the same name.

This book is hard to follow, has terrible pacing, and the writing style feels like a sixth grade English assignment. To make matters worse the author appears to have astroturfed numerous fake positive reviews in order to make this book seem better than it is to potential buyers.

It's a perfect example of the kind of self-published tripe on Amazon that pollute search results for otherwise well written novels.
Not all vampires are alike! 7 Dec 2011
By Mel Collins - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Turning 21 is supposed to be one of the biggest milestones of your life. However, for Rosemary Sanguine it winds up being THE biggest one of her young life. While celebrating her birthday with a friend Rose is attacked by a vampire. Before she can become his next meal she is saved by Thyme, another vampire, whom she begs to let her live, even if it's just as a vampire herself.
Even though Rose becomes a vampire she refuses to become a murderer, and start feeding off of humans. The struggles she goes through, like not eating those she loves dearly, become harder and harder to bear. Not only does Rose have to struggle with staying a "good" vampire but she has to keep the monster that turned her from killing her family and every one she cares about also.
This story debunks a lot of the myths surrounding the usual vampire lore. Plenty of action and bloodletting.
I would be very interested in reading the follow up on this story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book to review.
