A nostalgia trip into cosy family comedy from 1950s radio, it is probably my memory misleading me but the screwball humour seems less frantic and effective when visualised on the big screen.

LIFE WITH THE LYONS (1954) - Ben and Bebe, children Barbara and Richard move into a new house, then have problems with a difficult landlord played by Hugh Morton. Other imports from the radio series are the handyman Wimple (Horace Percival) and their cook Aggie (Molly Weir) and Florrie (Doris Rogers).

LYONS IN PARIS (1955) - It is their wedding anniversary and Ben takes Bebe and the kids to Paris, visits to a seedy night club in a cellar, the Follies Bergere, and problems with Ben's antique car.

FINALLY - I used to enjoy the "Life with the Lyons" in those far off days on the radio but these films seem contrived and dated.

Its just like the radio show, just a bit madder but a lot of fun to watch! It has the same cast with Molly Weir as Aggie,Horace Percival-Mr Wimple and Doris Rogers as Florrie.
It has one extra on the dvd, which is a short interview with the director. (You can get the whole of the interview on another dvd) I can't wait to see the Lyons go to Paris!
