'Spalding made headlines last year when Amazon revealed he was one of their best selling authors, selling over 400,000 copies on Kindle. It was obviously only a matter of time before someone snapped him up.' The Daily Mail.

"A collection of anecdotes, adventures and confessions that reads as satisfyingly as a novel. It's paced, it's organised, it's witty, it's wise, it's from the hip. There's never a dull moment." Neil Marr, editor in chief, BeWrite Books

'Nick Spalding is clearly very talented at writing.' Novelicious.com

"You have to admire any writer who can produce a book as hilarious as this in just over a day. Bastard!" Stephen Leather, best selling author

'Spalding is literally a comedy genius.' Chick Lit Reviews & News

Product Description

This is the first book from Nick Spalding, the best selling author of the smash hit romantic comedy Love... From Both Sides and its sequels Love... And Sleepless Nights & Love... Under Different Skies - all available now.

Nick Spalding tried to write a book in 24 hours. Turns out that's impossible... it took 30!

Life... With No Breaks is a unique, hilarious and heartfelt look at the modern world we live in, told by a master story-teller with much to say - and only a weekend to say it in.

You'll laugh out loud reading Nick's odyssey of non-stop writing in a collection of anecdotes, asides and stories (admittedly featuring more fabrication and embellishment than a politician's expenses claim) - all dredged up from an over-stimulated brain functioning on caffeine, nicotine and the occasional chocolate biscuit.

The book is a conversation with you, and with Nick you'll venture into the thorny topics of love, life, sex, horribly timed bowel movements and a deathly fear of sponges (among many other things).

After you've read Life... With No Breaks, you may never look at the world the same way again!

About the Author

Nick Spalding is an author who, try as he might, can't seem to write anything serious. He's worked in the communications industry his entire life, mainly in media and marketing. As talking rubbish for a living can get tiresome (for anyone other than a politician), he thought he'd have a crack at writing comedy fiction - with an agreeable level of success so far, it has to be said. Nick lives in the South of England with his fiancée. He is approaching his forties with the kind of dread usually associated with a trip to the gallows, suffers from the occasional bout of insomnia, and still thinks Batman is cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reading......with no breaks 20 April 2011
By K Noble
Format:Kindle Edition
Ever wanted to delve into the mind of a writer? Well if you can't have that, you can always spend 24 hours with Nick Spalding! Haha!

Nick generously offers the reader coffee and cookies as he winds his way through the tales and tribulations of his life so far. The conversational nature of the book makes this easy to read and I found myself nodding along in agreement with Nick (before realising I looked like a complete nut job!)
To me this book is absolutely worth all 5 shiny gold stars - it makes you laugh, it makes you think and best of all it made an 8 hour delay in the airport almost enjoyable!
Nice on Nick!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and hilarious! 28 Oct 2011
Format:Paperback
Life with no breaks has to be one of the funniest books I've read in years. From start to finish I found myself laughing out loud at Spaldings's escapades, stange phobias (sponges!) and observations. There were so many entertaining stories, too many to list here, although the embarrasing university story is worth a mention.
I loved how the book was written in one sitting; it made me feel part of the author's journey through his thoughts and reminiscences. And I felt almost priviledged to be included in some of the more personal and private confessions. I had attempted to read this all in one go as a nod to Spalding's mammoth writing session - but I didn't have his stamina (or coffee!).
A brilliant, hilarious book, well worth a read. Spalding has a real talent for drawing you in and leaving you wanting more. I shall definately be reading more by this fantastic author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Laughed a lot, a treat to be read in one sitting 25 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I laughed a lot when reading this book and when I picked it up I was in such a bad mood. This book banished the blues! It is laugh aloud funny, apart from when the author goes into more serious episodes of his life. However these are always recounted in a poignant manner and I feel the author has been very honest with the reader.

Amazing that Nick could write all of this in one sitting. I thought it would be a disjointed stream of conciousness, but he manages to bridge and connect seemingly random topics in a streamlined way.

Would recommend as a great wee tonic. In this book, Nick invites you to be be his friend and by the end of the book he had a new friend in me.

Just finished this book, its been on my kindle for a while now and finally got to the top of my "to read next " pile! Why did I wait so long ?? I was reduced to tears of laughter , the paint ball session is down right side splittingly funny,, I had to read it twice,, Simple idea for a book and it works,, Bargain at any price and one to keep on kindle, it will be read again, and again .

5.0 out of 5 stars This guy should be a stand-up comedian! 24 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Writing... with no breaks. Spalding faces his laptop, armed with cigarettes, coffee, a supply of Pringles and cold chicken, and sets out to write a book in one sitting. Thirty hours and fifty-five thousand words later, the result is a memoir -: hilarious anecdotes, short stories and his observations on life, love and sex.

Telling us that he is depending on us, the reader, as his trusty muse, he is accompanied by early birdsong and the later hum of his neighbour's lawn-mower. Catapulted into his writing den and into his head, he gives us a very honest and personal account of his work, his marriage and his experience with sex. The result is: hilarious. I would advise you to read this in the safety of your own home - otherwise people on the bus/ train/ nearby hairdressing chair will think you're a nutcase when you laugh out loud. Especially at the story of his "team-building" paintball experience or his first (and last) trip to the gym.

This guy should be a stand-up comedian. A must-read!
