Despite the collapse of the Inspiral Carpets in the early nineties, Clint Boon was always determined to make a musical comeback. This, his second album, is again a innovative and fantastically fun album. Not deterred by the accident in April 1999 when the tour bus tyres' exploded on their way up to Glasgow and the lives of several members of the gang were put in danger, this album is again, much like the first, a refreshing change from much of the guitar heavy or angsty music that is popularly heard today. Indeed this music is best heard live, and only then can you be fully described as a member of the 'Boon Army'. But this albumis a useful indicator to at least the music which will be encountered at a gig. Popular tracks such as 'Kids get Kicks' and 'Me I'm just a girl' are superb, while the slower songs are nevertheless compelling. Buy this album, See them live, and a message to you Mr Boon, play them tunes.
