Scrooge McDuck is still living in poverty and in search of his fortune at the beginning of this volume, but that all changes when he uses the skills he's developed over the years to strike gold at White Agony Creek in the Yukon. From there he develops his fortune into several other businesses and becomes a billionaire. Construction of his money bin on Killmotor Hill in Duckburg soon begins, but his younger sisters (and nephew Donald) do not like the person that Scrooge has become and eventually desert him, leaving Scrooge alone and heartbroken at a tough life of endless profit at the expense of family.

As with the first volume, this one has the power to make you laugh on one page and cry on the next. Watching Scrooge change over the years and seeing the guilt and zeal that he tackles on a daily basis makes for a great character. Hold it up next to Peter Parker moping over Uncle Ben or breaking-up with Mary-Jane and you'll see that there's no comparison. The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck is a far, far better story than most of Marvel and DC.

This is a terrific collection of stories. This is a beautifully presented edition.Like Carl Barks before him,Don Rosa has a terrific eye for detail and historical accuracy.Scrooge McDuck might be fictional but he meets many historical characters such as Theodore Roosevelt. I have passed this book on to nephews and all have been enraptured by it.
The complete story (you will need volume one as well) traces the rise of Scrooge McDuck from poverty to riches and seamlessly fits between all of Carl Barl's stories.
Buy it- you will not regret it!
