Review

"'Life Talk covers everything of importance, including delicate subjects which are sometimes hard to talk about. It's absolutely wonderful! One part even made me cry and is helping me deal with a personal issue.' N. L., mother of teenagers 'Dads should read it too. We often don't know what to talk to our daughters about and Life Talk really helped me to open up channels of communication with my 20-year-old daughter.' D.G., single father 'I've read it from cover to cover and it's brilliant. All teenage girls will benefit from Life Talk. The content is so useful, even for me!' M. B., headmistress 'Life Talk is an amazing contribution to wellness in its broadest sense. It helps and identifies for people many pathways to health and vitality. The emotional wisdom contained in this book is a must for every young (and not so young) person. I certainly will be recommending this book to my clients and patients.' Dr Rajen Cooppan"

Product Description

This book is an essential toolkit of lessons for life; a practical, common-sense guide that offers invaluable insight into the values of self-respect and personal integrity. It encourages a healthy attitude and will give your daughters the necessary skills for surviving life's challenges with grace and humour. Buy it for your daughters to read, or use it as a basis for discussion or to help you pass on your own particular wisdom.

From the Author

Originally written for my own daughter in case she ever needed inspiration or help, Life Talk for a Daughter is applicable to all girls from the age of about thirteen, through to adult. I wrote it as a toolkit of tips and guidelines on 60 topics, dealing with life skills, relationship issues, practical aspects and some of the tough stuff that life inevitably throws our way.

I subsequently wrote Life Talk for a Son (in UK from September 2007), and was then asked to establish a Forum for parents and teens. My time is now dedicated to the Life Talk Forum and to working with the youth, helping them with some of the challenges faced. The Forum has a panel of psychologists who provide input on the various issues in the teen and parenting worlds.

I am often asked to give talks to teens and parents, providing feedback on key issues that affect their lives, and exploring ways of enhancing parent-teen communication. There is a great deal happening in the Teen world, and through the Forum we've found that awareness and discussion make a huge difference to how lives turn out.
