Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Become a young and popular doctor and live the everyday life in hospital with surgeries and human drama like in TV soaps. Use Nintendo DS touchscreen for examination, operation and for communicating with patients and colleagues.

Product Description

Life Signs: Hosptial Affairs is an original, exciting and portable adventure game for the Nintendo DS that allows you to experience what it's like to be a top doctor in one of the best hospitals around. Just like on television, you'll be continuously confronted with interpersonal issues between you and your staff and you'll need to resolve them as quickly and professionally as possible. Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to operate on those who need your help the most. By using the DS' unique touchscreen, you will be able to communicate, examine, diagnose and operate on many of the hospital's patients.

  • Operate on patients of all ages - but before you operate, you'll need to figure out what is wrong with them using the DS' unique touch-screen technology!
  • Operate on your own, but for more difficult and serious cases, you will likely need to utilise the assistance and skills of other doctors.
  • Relationships are extremely important at work - especially when someone's life is at risk! Carefully manage your staff, so that they'll be willing to help you when you need them the most!
  • Developed in Japan, fans of magna comics will love the popular art style used in the game.
  • Numerous minigames and bonuses to unlock for hours of re-playability!

Good game 4 April 2009
Fun:
Having played the US version, I found this game to be very good.
It's actually not trying to be Trauma Center, as this game came out in 2004 in Japan and is the second in the series.
The first being ,Kenshuui Tendo Dokuta, only released in Japan, and therefore only in Japanese and isn't as good as Lifesigns.

Where as Trauma Centrer was puzzle based, Lifesigns is more a Doctor RPG.
While choosing which nurse to take out on a date, you get to perform actual medical procedures for real conditions, not a fictional virus.

If you want a more "real" doctor game, get Lifesigns, if you prefer puzzles, get Trauma Center.

Fun:
I'm about two thirds of the way through this game and I'm really enjoying it. The operations are a minor part of the game and hard enough without being impossible (unlike in Trauma centre, where I found the operations to be frustratingly difficult). The rest of the time you go about talking to people and showing them objects to trigger responses from them. Sometimes if you show the wrong object at the wrong time it can change the course of the story, so you have to think carefully about what you're doing. I like the stories and the characters, and there are random little mini-games that pop up and are quite fun (like fishing, or catching snakes).

Also, some games, including ds games give me a kind of motion sickness (nausea and headache) but this one doesn't which is a huge bonus for me.
