This book tries to cover a little bit of everything briefly but sadly lacks enough detail to satisfy a serious scholar. I was unsure if the book was pitched at children, which if so gives a fair introduction and is a worthwhile read. Unfortunately a subject such as this requires a number of elements to be explored in depth to give context to the material. Possibly more detail on fewer chapters would have been more beneficial

Very informative piece of literature about life in a medieval castle from the Lord of the castle to the low born servants. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think that I had miss-understood about this level of this book .......I hasn't realized that it was aimed at school-age level.

As a history buff I was interested to see how much I didn't know about life in a Medieval Castle, and this book covers just about every aspect in fair detail. I found it to be an enjoyable read with a few eye-opening facets. I won't go into detail to avoid spoiling things for other readers, but if you are a fan of historical fiction chances are you will like it as much as I did. It now has a place on my "historical" bookshelf.

A Very good book for young student's who may require information on medieval life in a castle. Would have benefited however if the author incorporated a few sketches or drawings to assist with the explanation of items and details of the castle

This was an excellent lesson into the life of just one Medieval way of life. As a lover of history, it appealed to me on so many levels. I would thoroughly recommend this book to any person interested in history, whatever their age be.

This is a fairly short book, but covers the daily life for both the lords and servants. Probably not deep enough to be a scholarly text book, but enjoyable enough for the average reader.

Good and clear, but too short - one is left wanting more! Also I would have liked some real histories in there to bring it to life more - however, still a very interesting read.
