Product Description

Emotions plagued Morgan when she met her first vampire. She was shocked, terrified, and… disappointed?

After discovering that Frey—the cute transfer student—is a werewolf, and her unattractive substitute teacher is ousted as a vampire, Morgan is dragged to the Magical Beings’ Rehabilitation Center, an organization that strives to integrate magical beings into human society. She is given a part-time job at the center until arrangements can be made to erase her memory. (A half normal human available for use is a rare resource in the center, or so she’s been told.)

As an MBRC employee Morgan discovers that some vampires are bald and fat, elves don’t always have a great sense of fashion, cyclopes are quite nice—not to mention loaded—and werewolves can get fleas. There’s also, apparently, a Chicago Goblin Mob. Word to the wise, don’t mention their lack of tusks.

After being pranked, threatened, hypnotized, and kidnapped, Morgan must decide if the magical is worth it, or if she wants to return to the mundane.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very different take on urban fantasy 19 Nov 2013

Young adult book, but very entertaining - I'll be looking out for the next in this series. Admittedly it has the inevitable love triangle (that gets weird and a bit complicated), but the idea of "normal" paranormals is inspired! Definitely amused me for an hour or so.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 8 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is fantastic, engaging and hilarious; you can practically laugh the whole way through. The main character, Morgan, is believable and a good heroine. I would recommend this! (If you enjoy this but haven't read Princess Ahira, I recommend that too - they're written in a similar way.)

This book has a great story along with its character. It's very funny and especially good to be written from the main characters POV as her opinions and views are hilarious. It would be great to have a whole series of these books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fairy Tales with a dash (or heap) of reality 13 Aug 2013
By Jeremie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What if you were just a regular teenage girl who had the (mis?)fortune of stumbling into awareness that, hey actually fairy tale creatures DO exist and (mysterious whisper) they live among us?

But actually, this book was enjoyable because of how many books it inadvertently (or directly) pokes fun at. Any guesses what book this is warping?
"Not to mention if there WERE such a thing as vampires they would not be middle-aged men whose hair appeared to be eating itself"

Besides that element, MBRC does have a storyline and it's not a constant inner monologue of the protagonist whining about her life (yay!) Also, it's CLEAN - no scenes to make me think twice about recommending to my preteen and young teen girls!

Last note, I purchased this book (no free reading copy) and still thought it was completely worth reading! Fully recommend reading it.

(Some minor grammar errors but nothing overwhelming)

While MBRC has some grammatical errors, if you can read beyond that you'll really enjoy this book. I hope the author writes more as I would love to find out what happens with Morgan and her friends!

Poorly written with angsty first person narrative. This book's only saving grace is a strong-ish teenage heroine and a mildly interesting premise.
