5.0 out of 5 stars Hobbes 25 Sep 2013
Format:Paperback
Life Lessons From Hobbes has obvious and serious scholarship behind it. Equipped with this, the author does a fantastic job of rendering a light, accessible and entertaining account of his works. It also delivers on its promise; I finished it with a genuine sense of having had an entertaining `life lesson' from an insightful teacher and am now working my way through the rest.

"Life Lessons from Hobbes" is an intelligent and insightful little guide to our time. Full of engaging examples and dilemmas, the author ensures that Hobbes has much to say about our current world, and encourages us to examine that world afresh. I found it a thought-provoking and often genuinely entertaining read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wit and the real world. 21 Jan 2014

Dr Dawson has done a great service writing something witty and readable about Hobbes and other matters. If you want a generous dip into the waters of Leviathan, which I find quite relevant in today's world of encroaching governments, I'd suggest this now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended 2 Dec 2013

One of the best book of this series so far. The book is a piece of good materials and very good research. It surprises you with the references to TV hits like Sopranos or other additional info but the glimpse of Hobbes and his view is very well said in this book.
