5.0 out of 5 stars A truly inspirational read 22 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback
'A Life Less Lost' is much more than just a memoir. This book is the story of courage, hope and faith in adversity; and it is truly inspirational. K B Walker relates her story with warmth and emotion. It is well written and engaging. At the age of 15 her son is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. This book takes a look at the effect this diagnosis had on her as a mother, and how she was able to cope through years of uncertainty and pain. We also learn a great deal about the writer as a person, with insight into her career and family life. The author is also a Christian, and the book shows the ways her faith has helped her through, not only the trauma of her son's illness, but also the many sad and tragic events she has had to face in her life. It is also a reminder to us all that it is important to listen to our inner voice, or intuition, for guidance through life's ups and downs. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars A moving true story 3 Mar 2013
Format:Paperback
This is a moving and uplifting account of a mother retaining her hope and faith whilst her incredibly courageous son is diagnosed with cancer. If you have been through anything like this, then `A Life Less Lost' will be a source of comfort and inspiration to you.

K.B. Walker also communicates how her Christian faith has given her strength. She does this in a way which is profound and personal, without ever becoming judgemental, alienating or `preachy' She gets the balance just right. Reading this sensitive and powerful book, I feel amazed by what some people have to go through - and how those seemingly insurmountable obstacles faced in life can often strengthen rather than crush individuals.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful, Inspiring Book 9 Sep 2009
By Mary Yeazel - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This was a very personal, moving story for me. My life has been affected by cancer, and it was almost overwhelming to read this story of a mother's struggle to come to terms with a son attacked by the disease. It tells the ups and downs of dealing with hospitals and oncology staff and at the same time trying to keep your family together with some semblance of a normal family life. This book shows how God spoke to the author, and her willingness to accept the outcome. It was especially moving to me because I have visited her church and met this fantastic woman. I absolutely recommend this book.
