I felt completely tuned into this book. It offers such a wide range of situations. Every point was relevent to teenage life and it is very easy to relate to. This book was a like a councillor, a mother and a friend all rolled into one and set out on paper.

I thought this book was excellent. If you you can't seem to get in touch with your emotions - and you feel that there is no one you can turn to - then you need Life Happens. Life Happens: The honest advice you need to get through it.

I bought this for my 13 year old daughter as I thought it might help her with a few problems she has been having. Being able to buy it from the amazon.co.uk site and also (I thought)from the title, I assumed that it would be relevant to us.
It is totallly geared to a US audience (with such things as the language difference - mom, graduation, apartment, 'parking' etc; the way of life used in the 'real-life' letters/scenarios are incredibly different to that experienced in the UK) and the book I felt was also aimed at an older teenager rather than the younger.
I did not buy this book for the depression angle - the 11th point on the book's cover of the subjects included in the book - so was absolutely horrified that the first few chapters focussed wholly on feeling down/bad/depressed; had a run through of various types of depression and even checklist to help the reader determine whether or not they were likely to suffer depression!
Perhaps this is what a US reader needs but some of the questions and the whole tone of the book made me realise that my daughter has a good, safe, normal teenage life, supportive home life and really does not need a book focusing on negative aspects of being a teenager - and to be told that she needs a therapist!
