First port of call 28 Feb 2011
Format:Hardcover
If you buy no other Lawrence Biography make it this one. It runs smoothly and catches the real essence of Lawrence. With crystal clear prose it captures vividly the most important events in Lawrence's life. Without dwelling unnecessarily on any particular period you are carried along with the flow, the excitement and momentum of his life. His life was one of constant searching, with Lawrence continually illuminated and illuminating everything he came across. We want the tracing of his life to follow such a track. Sagar's book does this. It is clear, it is comprehensive and it captures the man and his vision admirably. Another very attractive feature of this updated biography is its splendid and vast array of photographs which always appear at the precise moment you want them to.

fascinating insight 11 Dec 2011
Format:Paperback
This is well-written and easily-read biography, nicely illustrated with photographs and some of DHL's paintings. Sagar knows his stuff and I enjoyed learning about Lawrence's life, although I found I got rather tired of all the travelling around in the latter half of the book. Okay, fair enough, that's just what Lawrence did. All in all a fascinating insight into Lawrence the man.
