Untold miles of lawless, apocalyptic roads wait for our feet

Book One

"This is Safe Haven Refugee Camp. Can anyone hear me? …hello? Is anyone out there?

The end of the world has given us a harsh, merciless existence, where nature tries hard to push mankind to the very brink of extinction. Everything is against us, between us... Untold miles of lawless, apocalyptic roads wait for our feet, and the future, cold and dark, offers little comfort. Without change, there can be no peace. Only survivors.”

From dangerous trips into dark, apocalyptic cities, to patriotic rescues and furious revelations, Life After War is an action-packed fantasy series where those left alive must come to terms with their mistakes in the old world, while fighting for a place in the new one. Life After War. Magic and Reality blended into a post-apocalyptic fantasy series that you won't ever forget.

Summary in 20 words or less:

An action adventure quest, with a supernatural romance, and many other subplots, set during the aftermath of the apocalypse.

What can you expect to discover in this fantasy series?

  • The End of the World, up close and full of apocalyptic horror.
  • A government conspiracy that caused the apocalypse.
  • An adventure into the wastelands to find family, supplies, and safety.
  • A supernatural romance with a dangerous secret about a child's parentage and a love strong enough to survive nuclear armageddon.
  • An invasion, ambushes, attacks from nature and man-guns and magic!
  • A refugee camp with very different laws, picking up those who have survived.
  • A hero you will love, even as you ponder the secrets that could lose him leadership.
  • A witch, a doctor, a government storm tracker, a star, and three Marines struggling to keep their people alive and together as they prepare to defend themselves against Cesar's slavers.
  • A constant battle for survival that includes deadly trips into decaying American cities, insanity, relics of the past, and ghosts that stalk their every move.

"Set along the lines of The Stand and The Postman, this is a chilling vision of the collapse of all society and the rebirth of a nation by those who survived. It's so much more than just another fantasy series."

Book Two

The Journey Gets Hard

"The first 50 days were a struggle for survival where so many refugees fell and didn't get back up. Those of us who survived that second nightmare rolled over their bones with a furious shiver of hatred and kept fighting. There was nothing else we could do."

Book Three

Is their Haven actually Safe?

Safe Haven: A place of safety and of light, of duty and honor: A Refuge for survivors.
Also: A place of death and darkness, where magic and murder go hand in hand.

Angie and Marc have made it to Safe Haven and Kenn is already on the edge of murder. Will Adrian be able to stop the bloodshed or will everything he’s built start to fall? Can he keep the enemy at bay long enough to teach his people how to be survivors of this new apocalyptic world? After months of carrying the burdens alone, Adrian finally has the help he needs. Five of the six have come and he can’t wait to get things started. With Angie’s magic and his people skills, he is about to rebuild an entire country… If he can keep them out of the Slaver’s path long enough to get these special survivors to bond. If they won’t work together, everyone is doomed.

“Ready to go? This way to Safe Haven, Slaver attacks, and the Supernatural...”

More About the Author

I'm Angie. (Pen name)

Little pleases me more than to explore the dark fantasy and horror stories in my head. Knowing other people like them, is second only to the magic of this new career I've chosen. As a die-hard Cincinnatian, I much prefer writing to the stresses of being a city Taxicab dispatcher. Thank you for making my dreams possible, and for looking at this page!

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, lets you and I take a little stroll. There's a story I need to let out of its cage and I think it's one you need to hear. It's about the end of the world as we know it...

Note: Many of my books were removed until the new editors, Kim and Sharon, and I, could get them into top shape. It was clear from the reviews, that we had a lot of work to do. We began in Feb. As of Oct., we now have 9 of 11 titles finished and back online for your reading pleasure. The remaining books will return as soon as we finish them.

From a British reader.
When I was young my favourite book was Empty World by John Christopher. I also enjoyed Swiss Family Robinson and a number of Jules Verne - not really apocalyptic but certainly tales of survival and trying to create a better world. Then Survivors (Terry Nation) came onto tv with a new millennium rewrite - and I was hooked on PA fiction. It was difficult to find similar genre books, until that magical moment when I received a Kindle for Christmas. A whole new world of fiction was opened up. I've read quite a few books of this genre and Angela White's are by far the best I have come across. There are very few books that during long drives, or just before sleep make me imagine I was there and how I would deal with those situations. That's how much these books can immerse you.

Other reviews tell the story (read them as well if you need to) - I'm recommending the series' storyteller; Angela makes you feel like you are also there getting to know the characters, and the whole background just seems so real, even with the "magic" which I thought was pretty clever and adds a whole new dimension to an age old idea. There are plenty of character subplots, certainly in the first books, which then get pulled together as the story continues and there's obviously been a huge amount of thought put into the entire series with new storylines emerging when least expected. My only gripe would be that I like to also see how the ordinary folk are doing - maybe we need a short story diary or some fan fiction!

Non-Americans, don't be put off by the fact that this is set in the USA and it quite patriotic. Yes of course, the characters are American and you might lose the geographical plot a bit, but patriotism and the yearning for a better life is not just American.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 1 July 2012

Fantastic book, just could not put it down. Loved having the 3 in 1 setup, it meant I could indulge myself in an excellent post apocalyptic novel. The first book starts with nuclear war and it's immediate grisly aftermath. We meet some survivors and this is their story set out . Cannot recommend this series enough. One of the finest PA series to be ranked alongside the Dark Tower series & the Stand by Stephen King and the Genesis of Shannara series by Terry Brooks.

The book is ok, alright, nothing special. I am an avid reader and was on holiday so I read all three but to be honest I got a bit bored at times. There were too many meaningful glances and repetitive thinking and the pace was so slow. I think it could be improved by some editing. But it was ok.

Personally I've never been a big novel fan sticking really only to factual stuff but as I've got older I've sought other reading avenue's and came across this as a freebie so I thought nothing ventured nothing gained and downloaded it and eventually got round to reading it not really sure what to expect. To my surprise I found it quite engrossing and drained my battery on more than one occasion, this was actually good. No one really knows what the outcome of a nuclear conflict would really be like we can only guess but this story conjures up quite a picture and is well worth reading, some quite good characters are met throughout the pages along with some good plots and sub plots which finally bring you to volume 4 and although this has a price I immediately downloaded it and began to follow the trials and tribulations of the survivors. One of the bonus's so far there is no major use of profanities just the occasional one which fits well in it's place .The series so far I well worth reading and I recommend it to all. Best character? Dog.

5.0 out of 5 stars life after war by angela white 6 Aug. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Life After War By Angela White is an excellent work.
This is a story of life after a nuclear war set in America, The book started slow, but this is a good thing as it gives some background information on the main characters and how they all get together, also their hardships and sometimes brutal treatment at the hands of other survivors along with their traits and fears for the future.
I Thought this was not my type of book but the more I read the more I liked the style and way the author describes the situations of the survivors.
Not much more I can say as this is yet another nuclear holocaust novel, but I feel that it is better than the average story that includes mild violence and love elements.
As there are a lot of things happening within these books I will leave it at that as I could write page after page to describe the events within these pages. 5 STARS a winner as far as I was concerned.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliantly post-apocalyptical series. 9 Nov. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read all the books available in this series so far and anxiously await the next. We know where they're going but it's the getting there, and what happens when they do, that counts. All the characters are very well rounded and believable. You understand how they think, and yet they can still surprise you. Very well written and gripping. I await the next episode anxiously.
