5.0 out of 5 stars Very Much 'You Had to Be There' 2 Dec 2011
By Demeter - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is one of those collections that really puts the 'you had to be there' in 'you really had to be there'. Whether you were a JET, Interac, teaching English at a private college, doing GEOs, NOVA, AEON, any of those, you will really, really, REALLY enjoy this. I wish I could take the cherry blossom comic, blow it up, and frame it on my wall! It zings literally straight into my heart; it's super silly, but I laugh and cry at the same time whenever I flip through this. ;_^

If you're a JET - get this. Or even better, give it to the departing JET as a present!
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun read and perfect gift for any current, former or future JET! 19 Mar 2014
By mapb - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I heard about this book through the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Program alumni community. It was definitely a fun read and pretty true to the experience. I think it would of most interest to folks who are living in Japan as teachers or who have just gone back. However, it's also a great way to share your experience with friends, family and people who might be interested in living in Japan.
5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! 4 Jan 2014

As a former JET I could relate to the majority of this stuff...except the Thailand stuff, never went there. It did make me miss Japan a lot though.
3.0 out of 5 stars Fun and nostalgic 25 April 2013
By KinTama - Published on Amazon.com

Also being an ex Aomori resident I was happy to support the endeavors of a fellow language teacher. While I was not a jet a lot of my friends were, and I found the situations were quite similar where I was working as well so I did find it to be an enjoyable diversion from time to time
5.0 out of 5 stars Natsukashii heaven 10 Mar 2012

If you've been on the JET Program this is a must have for your home library. It's a great book for those dark hours when you're missing Japan the most, or just need boost from the good old days in Japan. This book will be your best friend when your friends and family back home dont want to listen to another Japan story they cant relate to and dont understand. Thank you Namisato for creating this awesome comic series! Natsukashii!
