If you like Laurie Graham's earlier novels, you will love this book, although the subject matter is a departure from previous novels. As you would expect, there are brilliant one-liners and acute observations. A very enjoyable read.

I don't know what it is about this book but with all Laurie Grahams other books, I couldn't put them down - this one I could hardly bear to pick up. I found the characters annoying, too overworked and I just wished they'd all go home. I was really sorry as I have read every book LG has written with joy but this one left me absolutely cold - I would give it to the charity shop if I hadn't got it out of the library!!!!

I've read almost all of Laurie Graham's novels and every one is different from the last. This is a very funny book which made me laugh out loud and I was sorry to reach the end of it. Ms. Graham has a wonderful way with words and a unique way of looking at life and creating believable characters.

A amusing read
As with Laurie Graham's previous books this is easy to read. An excellent holiday book with some very amusing story lines

Usual Laurie Graham magic...with an Iron Curtain flavour.
I generally love anything Laurie Graham so much as glances at. If she wrote the blurb on the back of a shampoo bottle I'd read. This book didn't disappoint at all. Read more
