Ein Buch, dem man verfallen kann. Was mich am meisten beeindruckt hat, war die zwingende innere Logik des Zerrissenseins. Während die Geschichte auf einer oberflächlichen Ebene sich unmöglich, chaotisch und verwirrend gibt, ist sie auf einer tieferen Ebene von einer beeindruckenden emotionalen Notwendigkeit geprägt. Wer selbst so etwas zu kennen glaubt, hier könnte er/sie sich finden.

Dieses Buch ist wirklich ein literarisches Meisterwerk. Die Schriftstellerin hat ein großes Talent zum Erzählen. Ein sehr poetische und gleichzeitig schonungslos erzählte Geschichte. Die Figuren des Romans (insbesondere die Protagonistin Ja'ara) zeichnen eine sehr eigenwillige, zerissene Welt, die einen nicht mehr los läßt. Das Buch hat einen interessanten Spannungsbogen bis zum Schluß. Ja'aras Art die Dinge zu sehen (schonungslos, skurill, liebevoll und zuweilen auch grausam) machen diese Buch so eigenartig und empfehlenswert!
