5.0 out of 5 stars Contemporary German Short Stories 20 Sep 2011
By Graham
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
An interesting collection of longish German short stories, exploring (as the title suggests) aspects of love. The writer is an excellent teller of varied, logically developed tales, each of which nevertheless ends with a surprising, but believable twist.

By Mr. David R. Pritchett - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a collection of thoughtful short stories about modern Germany with overtones of the 2WW and the coming down of the Berlin Wall. I haven't read it all yet but it is good so far. The German is fairly easy for a non-German speaker - about A-Level standard I should think. The sentences are short and not convoluted. I managed to get through a couple of stories quite well with a good dictionary.

It reminds me a bit of Heinrich Boell.

It was a bit expensive for a paperback but I suppose you have to pay the price if you are getting something that is less popular in a foreign language.
