This series was cut short by my idea this was such a good series it should have run for at the 5 series most American series go for now, and I would have liked to see the main character get together with his partner.

This is a great programme, made up of an Englishman in America. Normally I am not a great fan of the American cops and robbers but this is a good one; Tim Roth makes it.

In a fantasy world the body language genius Cal Lightman would be able to be rude, abrasive, bend the rules, ask suspects in his lab without arresting them and getting a confession every week.
If you can suspend your disbelief you'll love this series
Tim Roth is great, as is the rest to the cast.
The brilliant thing about the series is each episode is a complete story but in addition the Story Arc ( so popular in current TV fiction ) rewards you with an insight into Lightman's past ( his mother's suicide and his abusive father) and his current life ( the problems of bringing up a teenage daughter- who matures as a character through the series - And his love of his partner Dr Gillian Foster)
A really great series cut down in its prime.

I loved Lie to Me. I was really disappointed that they shut it down in S3 when it was just starting to find it's feet and you could really see the cast gelling and the stories developing. At least I get to rewatch with this set and imagine the way things could have been.

Tim Roth is another British actor who outshines the rest of the cast in Lie To Me. It is not because they are any the less talented, it is his screen presence. He is very very watchable. The show's premise is that Roth is an internationally recognised expert on micro-expressions and body language. In each episode he, and his associates, determine whether a person is lying or not. Then the remainder of the show is about why the deception occurred. Often there are two themes per show. For example, in one a multiple personality disorder witnessing a murder runs parallel to an evasive judge running for the Supreme Court.
In the early shows, there was a lot of exposition of the methods used and often cut-away to well known real life cases to demonstrate particular facial expressions. However after a few episodes, the plots got a bit stale and there was noting really keeping the viewer interested except the telegenic Roth. I am surprised it lasted three seasons, but it showcased another example of excellent acting talent.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
This boxset is amazing and very addictive as you want to just watch them back to back. Probably the best boxset ive seen EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I fully recomend it.
