Good but not great,
This review is from: The Libertine (Nyman) (Audio CD)
If like me you fell in love with Nyman's work when you heard the stunningly beautiful soundtrack to the film 'The Piano' there is much to enjoy here. Dreamy strings have more prominence than the piano motifs providing a very melancholy and relaxing sound, if perhaps not as engaging as 'The Piano' soundtrack. My one criticism is that there are frequent pieces dotted in the album which are out of place with the rest (obviously to fit the film) being very sharp and loud in comparison to the rest, slightly marring the overall mood as I find myself skipping tracks. Particular favourite is 'The imperfect enjoyment'
