5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! 30 May 2011
Size Name:500ML
We had a few black marks on our oak kitchen worktop. There were some small ones which we could live with, but then our Le Creuset casserole was left out on the slightly wet worktop, and a large casserole-shaped black mark appeared that we couldn't ignore. Having researched the interweb, I came to the conclusion that "wood bleach" or oxalic acid was what was required. The black mark is formed from oxidisation (essentially rust) accelerated by the tannin in the oak.

I ordered some wood bleacher, and yesterday used a modelling brush to sparingly apply a few drops to the marks. The stains disappeared almost immediately! As instructed, I then washed off the bleach and lightly sanded the surface before re-oiling. The only problem I have now is that the earlier failed attempts to remove the marks had removed a lot of the oil, so I'm having trouble getting the original finish back! I think that if I had used the wood bleach as soon as the stain had appeared, I wouldn't have this problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miraculous 31 Oct 2011

After stripping the coloured varnish from my 20 year old marine ply dinghy, I was left with large ugly black patches where water had penetrated and stained the wood. Also there was stubborn yellowish wood stain that I couldn't seem to get rid of without sanding through, which is not recommended, as the outer ply veneer is decorative and very thin. I applied the wood bleacher as per the instruction - nothing happened at first, so I left it to dry (again as per the instructions). The next day I could hardly believe the transformation - all the black had disapperaed, and the yellow stain had gone. I wiped it over with a damp cloth then sanded it a little. The result is extraordinary - I have what looks like new wood to start the re-varnish job, which will be clear this time round. I know it's based a simple solution of oxalic acid, but I would recommend this Liberon stuff to anyone.

Its good stuff but......

I have been revitalising our pine kitchen worktops which were tung oiled some 10 years ago and had some stains. Once sanded down I used Liberon Wood Bleach, which did what it said on the tin and removed various dirty marks and water rings. Then I wiped the area with a damp cloth as directed on the tin. After a couple of hours drying I started to apply the Liberon Worktop Finish and Seal - Almost instantly the white liquid solidified into white wax like crumbs, clogging the brush and making a mess of the worktop. Once I had cleared up the mess and scrapped off white hardened 'wax' from the worktops, I then got a piece of bare wood and applied the white liquid, no problem, its come up with a nice finish, so must be something in the worktop wood, ie the residue of the Liberon Wood Bleach. We have now scrubbed the worktops twice with clean water (which quickly got milky) and will let them fully dry overnight, then try again, touch wood (!!!) it will go on OK then.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 9 Sep 2013
Size Name:500ML
I was a little sceptical but bought this as a last ditch attempt to rescue an oak floor. There was a large water mark that I couldn't shift on an oiled oak floor despite hours of sanding and re-treatment. I simply painted this product onto the finished floor and within a couple of hours the stain was gone and ready to be rinsed and refinished. Job done.

used sparingly as instructed said to apply with a brush I used an old toothbrush which did the trick. literally took seconds to do and repeated twice more as required. would definetly recommend as the water stains were bad but the results were impressive.

Superb product. It really revives old tired wood ready for a repolishing. I would recommend it for any furniture refurbishment work, but be sure to wear gloves!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the time and trouble! 27 Oct 2013
Size Name:500ML|Verified Purchase
Impressive... Does what it says on the bottle after a few applications. I would definitely recommend this product as it beats sanding and restaining! I had to remove some black mould appearing between the bottom of a living room rug and new oak floor due to an unknown spill. After a few coats it pulled most of it out!
