Don't be deceived by the sleek exterior of this machine.
It is truly the most inconvenient hasslesome printer i have ever encountered.

Sold with apparently full cartridges (capacity of up to 200 pages)- after 10 pages, colours and black were streaky.
Taken back to PC world, who replaced the cartridges with colour XL - up to 600 pages) and a normal black 100 cartridge (up to 170 pages) and after 30 pages max of printing the black has run out again.

WHAT A HASSLE
DO NOT BUY is my advice

Software takes an age to install and it is not compatible with Windows Vista. I spent 2.5 hours with online help uninstalling, changing computer settings and re-installing, only to be presented with this ink problem. What a waste of money and time.

This is genuinely the worst piece of electrical equipment I have ever owned. Rarely does what you want it to, deciding when it will work and when it won't completely at random.

I've had computer technicians examine it and are unable to find the cause...apart from the fact it is just total crap.

Stick to the bigger names such as HP. It has gotten so bad we have bought our old inkjet up to the office which is still going strong and putting this all singing all dancing machine to shame.

The box suggests that the printer comes complete with FULL ink cartridges which made the offer seem very attractive. Furthermore, replacement ink was apparently also reasonably priced. However, as the previous reviewer found, a full cartridge was in fact extremely limited. I purchased a black XL replacement but that has now emptied in only 3 weeks (by contrast a single HP cartridge used to last me 6 months. The consumables therefore outweigh all possible advantages of this printer. The printer was relatively easy to set up as a wireless printer, although I have had to reinstall the software at least once. When there is ink, the print quality is good for day to day prints. I have never had both full colour and black available to test photo quality!

I have been trying for a long time to get an efficent printer....one that would do everything that I needed as a teacher. I have spent a fortune in the past on printers...here comes along one that is not only reasonably priced but also very efficent. A very good buy!

This is the single worst printer I have ever had the displeasure to own. I have had mine for four months and in that time have had so many problems with printing that the time has come to accept that I wasted my money. Lexmark customer service have been less than helpful and in response to my question of if the problems I have experienced are 'a known issue', told me that it is not a known issue, but they do have many people with the same problem.... ermm isn't that classified as a known issue? My problem has been with the black ink not lasting and needing constant head cleaning, to the point that even with a brand new full XL cartridge, it will print half a page before the black becomes streaky and pale. On the plus side, the colour ink has been fantastic and the print quality lovely.

If you want something to sit on a shelf and look nice, this is it. If you want a wifi printer that is really easy to connect, this is it. If you want a printer that turns itself on and wakes everyone up in the middle of the night, this is it. If you want a printer that frustrates you half to death, this is definitely it. I hate to admit that I made a mistake, but buying this was a huge mistake. Bye bye Lexmark, I'm going back to Epson.

I just replaced this pile of rubbish with an HP office jet 6500A plus. All the same features and better done at the same price.
The lexmark chews through ink like nobodies business, even the 'XL' ones. The wireless was hit and miss despite all my other gear worked perfectly.
Honestly, you will pay a fortune on ink for this, get a better make!
Also the software is dodgy (on Mac at least), and I had nothing but problems with it!
Much happier with the HP!

This looked like a good printer until a few weeks after I bought it.
The problems started when the ink ran out within days of changing it (at [] a go). Then, every page had long blue bands appearing and the print head began to fail.
I replaced it but the problems continued and the printer packed up altogether. It's less than three months old, and although its under warranty, I don't want it repairing or replacing. I'm buying a different printer altogether.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Awful. I wont cover the issues on print costs with this machine as they are covered elsewhere (ie its incredibly expensive). I have had problem after problem and mine is only 3 months old. Currently not operating due to a 'print head problem' which has frozen everything and i cant even use as a scanner now. Its going back after the holidays as its not worth it even at the significantly reduced price. On top of that i have found the servicing terrible both from lexmark tech and the UK online ink service. The latter took nearly 3 weeks to deliver the extra cartridges even (even Maplins don't stock them) so i emailed after two weeks asking where the order was and whilst i appreciated the T&C's allowed for up to 14 days i wasn't
expecting them to be that long, got the following response - "Your order was placed on the internet on Monday 27th Sept and left us on
the 28th we do not need to hide behide anyone!" Way to go lexmark, goodbye.

Avoid is my strong advice.
